Husqvarna Part Number 544287002 Starter Assembly

I just installed this on my Husky 435 and it works as it should. I had previously ordered a backup that had only two cams on the pulley. When I installed the two pronged one it would feel like it was going to break your fingers when trying to start the saw, same result on both my 235 saws. This one is more expensive but it works properly. Sad but my return window lapsed on the two pronged piece of .... a long time ago since I had bought 2 of them for spares.

Did not fit my year 2013 440 e torx. The way that the drivers rotated when the string was pulled it would have spun any chainsaw backwards. I had to take the old rewind spring assembly out of the broken saw and install in this brand new part.Like I said, I don't see how this part could start any chainsaw seeings how it spun the engine backwards....Husqvarna website didn't do me any favors either, I could not find a parts diagram that showed my exact model

Direct fit replacement for a Husqvarna 440E and seems to actually be built a bit better than OEM. This replacement has a slightly thicker spring in the recoil mechanism and is about a 1/4 inch wider on the outside, but works perfectly none the less. The orange color matched perfectly and looks better than new once I removed the decal from my broken assemble and glued it onto the replacement.

Stated it fit my model however it did not...Returned for refund immediately also looked cheaply buily parts flexed right out of the packaging

This is a must have vs. the cheap plastic 2 splined pos. that comes on new saw. Starts on 1st pull now. Night and day difference. Shame and Husqvarna for knowing about the problem and not doing anything about it.

I didn't get to use this item because it didn't fit my saw. It looks like a great product and a very good buy. It was my mistake for ordering the wrong item. I sure wish it had been the correct recoil starter for my 445 chain saw.

I purchased this starter assembly for a husqvarna 440e II. part #544287002 at $24.95, this part actually has the husqvarna logo inside and has the low and high designation at the carb adj port. Whereas the stock starter assembly did not have them. Makes me wonder about what they say about buying from lowes instead of a real dealer. Anyway the starter works great however I'm having other issues with the saw.

I would not hesitate to purchase again. With multiple issues starting my 16” chainsaw this replacement resolved 98% of the starting issues, the other 2% are just operator issues.
