I so enjoyed watching this movie from my childhood. I wish the modern movies from Disney were as innocent as those from that era. Good clean entertainment.

I really like this movie, I used to have it on a VHS tape and we watched it a lot. Hayle Mills and Maurice Chavela are favorites. I'm so glad I found it and added it to my library.

This is a fun, classic Disney movie starring Haley Mills. It is a great adventure for the whole family.

It's a little silly with some cringe songs and dialogue. However, on the whole it is a fun adventurous trip around the world that kids of all ages will enjoy! Not on Disney+. The scripture quoting and wildly eccentric Wilfrid Brambell as Bill Gaye alone is worth the watch.

This Disney film is somewhat dated in terms of its presentation. That is the outdoor sequences look fake because they're all shot on stage. But even so the story itself carries the film as we follow our globe trotting adventurers to rescue their father.This is the only other film that I ever saw Maurice Chevalier in. That's important because throughout the 1970s and some of the early to mid 1980s, he and other Hollywood names, would get showcased in some reflection on past feature films or some other reflection on the entertainment industry as a whole. But more often than not I would see him or the likes of Liz Taylor or some other big name get a passing nod, but rarely did you ever see them in any of the films they were actually in. Very frustrating at the time.Even so, once clearly sees the talent put into this film, and the actors do their best. It is a Disney film so the performances are geared for a younger audience. There's fear, sadness, happiness, joy, but none of it is deep emotional stuff, just performances to get the idea across to the kids who went to see the film.The SFX are somewhat dated, but they were actually the best for the time that Disney could produce. The blue ray really helps bring out both the film's visuals and the story as as whole.Again, it's Disney fare for children, so the film is what it is, a light adventure romp with some dangers presented. Otherwise it's an okay movie to pass the time.Give it a shot.

I saw this movie when I was approx' 10 years old- I did not quite fly around the theater but it was close. I loved all of Jules Verne's books- but had not read this one (Also known as "Captain Grant's Children") Many years later when I re-watched it, I was a bit taken-aback by the depiction of the Maori.....And then a few years later I saw a PBS show about the Māori and found that it was my western mentality that was wrong.The chief's actions to stir up his tribesmen looked ridiculous to me...But it turns out that their actions would look almost exactly like what was depicted in the movie. MY interpretation was wrong!The scenes that were amazing to me; 1) the earthquake, 2) the condor, 3) the flood and especially 4) the waterspout- simply amazing.The one small scene that I cannot understand how they created so perfectly; During the earthquake, Chevalier looks through a scope at a rock spire as it collapses. How did they create that rock spire collapse?Watch this movie...but definitely watch a video of how the Maori do their Haka dance- especially the facial expressions.

最初のレビューを書かれたまさちえ様と違い、私は親に連れて行ってもらえなかったので、公開当時には見ておりません。予告編を見て、絶対に見たいと思っていたので残念でした。ですからこのDVDを見つけてすぐに購入しました。そんな訳で星5つは割引して考えて下さい。驚いたのは予告編の内容を殆ど完全に覚えていたこと。それだけ見たかったのでしょうね。「罠にかかったパパとママ（原題：ペアレント・トラップ　オリジナル版）のレビューにも書きましたが、当時は好評だった実写版の映画を日本ディズニーは殆ど発売していません。あまり需要がないのは確かですが、レビューで儲け主義と批判されている他の大手会社でも、自社の作品に対する愛着はかなりのもので、売れそうにもないものでもちゃんと販売してます。また有名な俳優が出演していたり公開当時は話題になったり大作と言われた作品で、長い間DVD化されてなかったものでも、最近は日本語字幕が入ったものが入手可能になっています（例：「パリは燃えているか」、「五月の七日間」、「ワーテルロー」、「ビッグ・トレイル」等々）。ひたすらディズニーだけが文化的遺産とも言える実写版の健全な家庭向け娯楽作品を朽ちるがままに任せているのです。何とも残念な事ではあります。

This is an older movie with adventure and humour. If you are listening good you will realize the bad guy in the movie did the voice of the bad tiger in Disneys' animated movie Jungle Book. This movie is about kids looking for their missing father and the adventure they have along the way. The French guy is funny. For the ladies it has some romance in it as well. Just a side note I think the best romance movie is The Adventures Of Johnny Lingo. That movie will grab your heart. Anyhow I like this movie very much and in my brother's house they watch it every Christmas even though its not a Christmas movie. They just like it that much. You won't be disappointed.
