Turn the red valve off! Counter clockwise.
Costco Grand Classic by Nexgrill.Five burners 72000 BTU. Plus rotisserie burner and two side cooking plates. Total variable BTU output around 95000 btu. Stock regulator never kept up to the demand. So, just installed and fired up with a near empty tank. Once hooked up— Make sure your red dial is turned counter clockwise completely, this is the off position. Open the tank gas valve slowly check for line leaks—dish soap and water works look for bubbles and the smell of gas. Mine did not leak, btw leave the rubber gasket in the small 5/8 fitting. Tighten snug don’t go Hercules on it. That could/will tear the washer! Turn the red dial a quarter turn clockwise/right check for leaks again. Yeah no leaks. I opened my first stage burner the gas rushed through the line and than slowed to a steady pace. I turned the red dial back just a bit repeated the process. Gas came out slower. I turned the burner to ignite and it fired right up turned to low. I started burner two and three and set all three to the lowest setting on the individual dials low. I than turned the red dial just a bit clockwise still to the right until I could see the three burners evenly burning on low. I than turned three burners to high. I gave the red knob just another bit of a turn and the grill was heating away better than ever. This grill is a high out put grill so I can see adjusting this more if I ever needed to use all five very large cast iron burners. I haven’t set the output for infrared rotisserie cooker yet but I imagine it will be a lower setting. I look forward to trying this on my smoker. Good luck! Check for leaks.

PLEASE watch a video on how to adjust the red valve on the regulator.
This thing put me in the mind of jet fighters switching on their afterburners. The red knob on the regulator actually varies the gas flow after the tank and before the knobs on your bbq. So you've got the gas flow knob on the tank, the red knob on the regulator and the knob on your bbq to control the height of the flames on the bbq.If you're not careful in your initial adjustments, you can get 8 inch flames out the very first vents on the burners and no flames elsewhere on the burners because the gas is coming out at high pressure. It doesn't take much movement on the red knob to take the flow rate from reasonable to Mach 11.I believe that red valve is there to lower PSI to 2 or so. There are propane devices that need very low pressures. It doesn't leak, it was easy to install and seems to be quality construction. One thing I would point out is Amazon.com actually shipped a high-pressure regulator of flammable, explosive gasses IN A BUBBLE WRAP MAILER WITH NO PROTECTIVE INSERTS. I should have sent the item back as I don't believe regulators are designed to be squashed on their sides by several hundred pounds of weight. Regulators should be shipped IN BOXES. If your worried about using a regulator with undetected damage from shipping, don't order from Amazon as they aren't worried about damage at all.

Don't waste money on a new Blackstone low pressure regulator
I have the 22" Blackstone Adventure flat top griddle. This griddle gave great service for about a 4 months and suddenly the low pressure regulator that came with it begin shutting the propane off. Very annoying when you have all you food ready to cook. I purchased a new low pressure regulator from Blackstone and problem NOT solved. I read on the internet where people having the same problem had purchased several of the regulators before finding one that worked. Save yourself the frustration and headache and buy this hose with adjustable regulator along with the MENSI low pressure adapter also sold on Amazon. This combination arrived in about two days, took 5-10 minutes to install and I was cooking with gas.Pay attention to the amount of pressure you're using to prevent sudden flame out. Set the new regulator to the lowest setting and gradually turn until you get the desired flame height. Enjoy

Get Your Grill Going
Works as advertised. My two-ring grill came with a low pressure regulator that never produced a robust flame. There was a time when I thought it was because of low pressure levels in the tank or maybe spider webs in the line somewhere but this regulator solves the problem. To use it safely first turn the red pressure control valve completely off, then open the tank valve all the way and set the flame control knob on your grill to its start position. Now slowly crack open the red valve while lighting the flame. Once its lit set your grill control to its highest flame level and slowly open the red valve until the flame is a little more than what you think you'll need. I didn't need to open the red valve much at all to get a good flame.

Awesome replacement for jenn-air grill
Recently I noticed food taking extra long to cook even with my grill set to high. This has happened before and I've found spiders inside the burner inlet blocking air/propane but this time there were no spiders. I checked the burners and decided after years of use it was time to replace them. Still this didn't fix the slow cooking. Even with new tanks the flame was low and I noticed the grill knobs had hardly any affect on the flame between low and high, I knew it had to be the regulator. Searching the web this seemed like the best deal and had the added bonus of being adjustable. Installation took about five minutes and my grill came back to life. Grill is now 100x times better and hopefully will last many more years.

We got ours but unfortunately it was leaking on the first day. I put some bubble solution on some of the joints and identified the leaky location. It is the connection between the pressure regulator and hose. I hope they fix this defect.

Excellent value, but not safe at all.
It's adjustable. It works. But the problem is, there is no control on the adjustable dial. If your grill is smaller or even regular sized, it's VERY possible to have the valve turned up too high. You'll have a literal fireball coming out of your grill and it's super dangerous. If you get this? Make sure kids can't touch it. Make sure you check the adjustable knob before turning it on if there's any chance anyone could have moved it. Start at the LOWEST setting and gradually increase the flow.I lost all the hair on my right arm learning this lesson.

It works, sort of. Not reliable.
I hooked this regulator up to an RV style propane cooktop with pilot lights. Initially it worked great. I got the pressure dialed in perfectly (very finicky valve, hard to set) and lit the pilot lights.Checked on it 12 hours later and the pilot lights are out and I can't get them re-lit. Turning a cooktop valve on is completely silent, no hissing, so it is obvious propane is not flowing. If I go out and turn the regulator valve one way then back to the original setting the propane will start flowing again. I've had to do this almost every morning since I've installed it. Not great. I'll re-install my slightly lower pressure, but fully functional, non-adjustable regulator. it is at least reliable.

handy valve
This valve is handy for BBQing in windy or cold conditions when we normally couldn't get the BBQ hot enough. Just turn it up a little at a time to jack up the gas flow. The knob is easy to bump and turn accidentally if you're fumbling nearby with the main propane tank valve so be sure to note its position that you found is best for your BBQ in case you need to spin it back to your desired original position.

works great
I used this to hook up a small forge that I built. Had a challenge to get the proper fitting for the brass end but I did find one. After that it was smooth sailing. This has more pressure then I need for a 1 burner unit. Could probably power a 2 burner. For what I wanted it is the perfect thing. Highly recommend.
