Acumen Disc Easy to USE CD DVD Disc Copier STANDALONE Duplicator System Tower with 24x DVD-Burner Writer Drive

Super simple to use and works perfectly so far. I had a project to duplicate about 35 DVDs of home movies for two other family members. It would have taken literally weeks to do with my Panasonic DVR/DVD recorder, as I would have had to have played them in real time while recording to the hard disk, then re-edited to divide and rename the titles before burning the DVDs.This accomplished it in about three evenings while I watched TV. Pop the source in the top, pop the blank in the bottom, then walk away until it beeps and the bottom tray opens. Pop in another blank to make another duplicate or remove the source to duplicate a different disc. It copies a two-hour DVD in less than 10 minutes and produces a perfect digital duplicate of the original, including title menus and chapter marks. My ONLY issue is that I had to keep pausing my TV show every 10 minutes to jump out of my chair and start the next duplicate.At $135 to duplicate 35 years on home movies onto 70 new DVDs, it came out to less than 50 cents per duplicate. I consider that a good result in the first week of use, and future use will be gravy.Disclaimer -- so far, I've only duplicated DVD-R originals onto DVD-R blanks. I've not used DVD+Rs, DVD+RWs, DVD-RWs, CD-Rs, or CD-RWs, though the machine says it will duplicate them as well. If the occasion arises for me to use something else, I'll report my results.Until then, though, I'm absolutely happy. Plugged it in, spent 12 seconds learning how to use it, and accomplished a big project very easily.ADDENDUM: After several months of use, I have found another very handy feature. I originally operated on the assumption that the target media had to be identical to the source media. That's not the case! As long as there is capacity on the target, it will copy. Depending on how they will be used and in what machines, I sometimes use -R as the target and sometimes +R. The duplicator will copy from either to either, and will copy from one format to the other.I successfully copied from a DVD-R DL to a DVD+R DL and vice-versa. The handiest thing is that it will copy from a DVD-RW or DVD+RW to a DVD-R or DVD+R.That means I can make my master disk on a rewritable disk. Sometimes it takes me several edits to get things just the way I want them, with appropriate break points between scenes. Or, sometimes I don't the thumbnails I set up when I see them after the disk is finalized. Now, I can make the master on a -RW or +RW, and make it over again if I need to, without wasting disks. Once the RW is perfect and finalized, the duplicator will copy it perfectly onto either a -R or +R, regardless of the source type of -RW or +RW. Great flexibility and it reduces the number of coffee table coaster. The more I use it, the more I like it.

If your looking for a no thrills duplicator this is the ticket. Simply insert the discs and it starts working. I bought it to back up some old CDR's from my college days and a few other discs(CDs) and so far no problem.No Programming here and very little in the way of instructions but it works and the price for me was right.Simply a useful tool. Also well packaged and fast service from the seller.

So far very impressed with this copier. Very easy to use. I am archiving old family photos by scanning them. I then put them on CD and send them to various relatives. So far, the copier as performed flawlessly. One other feature I discovered was that a copy I made of an old family movie DVD which was acting up when it was played, that is, it kept freezing during playback and the video was not so great, probably from a weak DVD signal, was amazingly restored when I copied it. Copy plays without any issues and the picture was excellent, so I guess the copier improved the original. Haven't had it long enough to comment on long term reliability.

I purchased this product to make duplicate copies of DVDs burnt from a Panasonic DVD Recorder. Each time I tried to copy a disc, the duplicate would only display the DVD title screen, but there would be no actual video content on the disc. I tried various brands of DVDs and both -R and +R blank discs and yet nothing would work.Okay, so it doesn't work, not the end of the world, right? Read on to find out what could happen to you:Acumen Disc outsources their tech troubleshooters, so to return the unit, you'll have to deal with two different companies, which has been extremely confusing. Once they allowed the return (after trying to just get me off the phone for the third time) I finally convinced them to accept the return. So, I sent it back in perfect working order with no signs of wear and tear at all, in the same shipping box with all accessories and paperwork and packaging. After three weeks, I had to contact them to see if they were ever going to process the return. They finally did but not for the original amount of $135, but only for $108. This doesn't include the $18.66 I had to pay out of pocket to return the unit in the mail. Altogether, I'm out of $45.66 because of Acumen Disc. I've had to file a claim with Amazon and this entire process has been a huge headache.I've been working with video electronics for over twelve years and I worked at Radioshack for three years. I know what I'm doing with this kind of equipment, and the bottom line is that Acumen Disc is making a unit they can't guarantee will work, and they're doing this at the expense of the customer.

This is great device and and copies exquisitly and very fast. I have copied audio ads and video dads. I wish I had gotten this long ago and yes I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

easy to use no setup just plug in an copy

It does exactly what I wanted it to do, price was ok, Very ez to use, overall I would buy again, hopefully a few dollars less

i liked the way this item performed and its ease of use i am a song writer so i used the duplicator to copy my songs on cd discs

Das mitgelieferte Kaltgerätekabel scheint für den US amerikanischen Markt zu sein.Das Kabel durch eins mit Schukostecker zu ersetzen ist zwar kein Problem aber hinten auf dem Gerät ist ein Aufkleber über dem Stromanschluss "Please select 115V or 230V for your region".Es gibt aber keinen Schalter.Weder die rudimentäre Anleitung noch die Produktseite auf Amazon nimmt darauf Bezug, was mich sehr enttäuscht.Der Aufkleber ist Unfug, da das Netzteil auch 230V verträgt.Man benötigt jedoch zusätzlich ein passendes Stromkabel.
