Best Suited for Small Items—Sturdy Zipper
This COLCASE Fireproof Money Box with Lock Is smaller than I imagined. Yes, I paid attention to the size when I ordered it, but as you know, numbers are just numbers, and items always seem larger or smaller than the numbers describe. However, I was not disappointed with the size. I planned to use it to store important papers, credit cards, emergency cash, and heirloom items. And since it is portable, I can take it with us when we travel in our RV.The Material is the same as one of our fire/water-resistant money bags, which fits perfectly inside. The silicone-covered fiberglass is resilient and temperature-resistant. However, Don't count on it being 100% secure, though, because it is not, nor is it intended to be. Its purpose is to offer a layer of protection. Whether at home, in our RV, or in a hotel room, we store it inside a safe, a first layer of security. The lock has easy-to-understand instructions for setting your own personal combination code. I'm sure it can be forced open with a little effort and a prybar. But as I said, it is just a layer of security and a deterrent to a "curious" person, like children or grandchildren, if it were left accessible. The handle strap is secure and doesn't appear like it will come loose, break, or fall off. Conclusion: It serves the purpose for which I needed it. It has met my expectations, which, according to my grading system, earns it four stars. If the box had been thicker, it would have exceeded my expectations and received five stars. I hope this helps. Thanks for reading!

Great for the price!
Number pattern is simple to set, good space inside and love the organization options. Took it on a trip my fiance to Cape cod and used it for valuables. Simple and discrete design makes it nice to work with!!!!

Great for traveling
This is a smaller case than you would normally get with a fireproof but is nice for traveling which is why I purchased it. It's pretty tough and still compact so you can fit all your medications or camera gear in there and it still be safe and it also locks.

Very well made and just the right size
I really like this case the hard shell holds its shape so I don't have to worry about my stuff getting crushed. I like the way they did the lock on the side that you can either use or leave unlocked, currently I use this to hold some cash and medications but I could easily see this as somewhere to store usb drives, photos, important documents or anything you want to protect. I'm glad I found this hard case I will probably buy one for each of our cars and make them into first aid kits. Easy to recommend this item it checks all the boxes it's made well and has multiple uses.

Thick plastic but NOT hard case, and lock is a joke, fireproofness not credible
The lock on this simply grabs the zipper pulls and holds them - it will stop exactly nobody interested in getting into the box. Even a child with a screwdriver could pull them out and just unzip the box. For that matter, calling it a box is really pushing things - it's somewhat rigid plastic panels with fabric connections primarily.I don't believe the fireproof ratings because the zipper area is largely exposed and even if the material is exactly as advertised, the zipper is going to let the heat/flame/water through. There's some effort made to overlap the inner portions behind the zipper but at least in my copy that's ineffective. So maybe slightly fire-resistant, might slow down (but not foil) a toddler with a screwdriver, not particularly crush-resistant - I can't see any reason to buy this.

Flexible Front and Back, Hard Edges
This lock box only weighs 1 lb 13 oz, so it is lightweight and easy to transport if needed. It has a lot of pockets inside which are convenient for keeping passports, money, credit cards, and other valuables organized. It is quite roomy inside the main case also. I attached a picture showing a business-sized envelope and a dollar bill so that you can compare for relative size. I would not call this a "hard case." The front and back are flexible since it is made of silicone-coated fiberglass. If you push down in the center, it will "give" about 1/2" to 1". However, it is hard and nonflexible all around the four edges. The metal zipper pulls can be locked in place and opened with a 3-digit combination. The lock seems quite strong. However, it is only as strong as the zipper pull. If someone wanted in it badly enough, they would just break the metal zipper pull or cut the zipper tape. The case may be fireproof, but I'm skeptical that the zipper tape would withstand a major fire. Overall, if you are just wanting to keep some valuables safe and tamper resistant, I think it is a good case.
