It works good, the glass is good, comes with useful stuff but don't count on have it working with the included burner bc it would never reach boiling temp, not even if you preheat it on your stove and put it back to the included heat plate

This distiller is quite good. Comes complete with all essentials. problem. Instructions are not so easy to understand how to put together. Best to look at a picture for help. You will need a pump to cool the steam. Remember to get one. Also the hot plate although it heats well does not work on this system. The plate is larger than the glass beeker making it useless. Purchase one that fits the diameter . Other than that I ordered a new hot plate from Amazon enexpensive and hope that will solve the problem.

the equipment came as advertised, but the bottom flask is of poor quality glass and broke within 6 hours of normal use (I was just distilling water to clean out the glassware before extracting oils).Asking for a replacement...will update on my experience,20241206 update:response from seller below. Unfortunately, the product did not come with the necessary water pump, which was a separate purchase. Then, the directions were very simple, and only provided pictures on how to assemble the product, but no instructions on how to use the product. And the very first time we used it, about 4 hours in, even though we had been watching it closely and emptying the hydrosol often, the steam built up too much and the bottom boiling flask cracked, making it now completely unusable. I will try to replace the flask and use it again because it was a fairly easy system to use. I'm just disappointed I have to spend more money.

This kit does not work for the following reasons:1- The supplied 1500W hot plate cannot bring water to boiling temperature in the lower flask. This is because the hot plate diameter is 7” and bottom of flask is 4” and therefore they do not have enough surface contact. This causes the majority of the heat from hot plate to be wasted instead of being transferred to flask.2- When you solve problem #1 and water boils in lower flask, the resulting steam goes up to the upper round flask, condenses there, and drips back into the lower flask before going out to the spiral condenser. After boiling for 10 hours, and only a few distilled drop came out of the system.3- It is difficult to get the plant material into or out of the middle flask through the narrow openings it has.This setup may work for distillation of other substances, but definitely not for extracting essential oils from plants.I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because it has good quality parts that may be useful for doing chemical experiments or doing something other than extracting essential oils from plants.

The hot plate is garbage, but the rest of this kit has so many essential glassware parts for a beginner hobbyist. I highly recommend this set, I use the parts for making all sorts of vacuum and fractional distillations, suspensions, extracts, and that's just the beginning.

You still will need to hook up to a bucket with a pump (aquarium) with ice water. To pump the cold water into the distiller

This was so much fun to use. I have made Lavender and lemon oil. Great product. The one down fall is the burner plate (1000w) It does not get hot enough to get the water boiling rapidly. I had to purchase a different hotter burner. But still worth it. Otherwise 5 stars.
