Although very toy-like, at around $1.24 each, these are good enough for their purpose. The glass timer is inside a plastic tube, attached to plastic stand ends. I wouldn't expect them to break if they hit the floor, but stepping or sitting on it likely would. The time is printed on both ends and having them colored is nice, especially with the 3-minute timer since you can barely read the white print on the yellow end caps.Like most sand timers, don't expect total accuracy, but they all come close enough to their stated times. I tested all four multiple times, and while the speed varies with any given use, they all finished within plus or minus 10 seconds.However, I've found the 1-minute timer sometimes gets bottle-necked and stops. I haven't noticed this with the 2 or 3-minute ones though (don't really use the 5-minute). I only use these when lifting weights to time my rest in between, so it's not that critical, but something to take into account if the timer isn't in constant view. Otherwise they're still worth it for the price and function.

Using the sand timers for toddler time outs. There are different hourglasses which works well because I'll be able to graduate one minute for each year. We're working with three year old so the three minute timer will be used.My little man is ADHD already, he has trouble with the concept of time and standard time outs. Having a visual aid helps him know that the timeout starts when the tantrum ends and it also helps him to self regulate since watching the sand drain out gives him something visual to focus on and an end to look for. Love the fun colors too. They are small enough to carry around with you anywhere and very light weight. Also durable. My son has dropped it and thrown it playing around with it. They're plastic so no worries there. He actually asks to carry it around in his pocket & it will fit in his little 3T and 4T size pockets

These sand timers have definitely come in handy for me around the house. I ordered one combo pack which came with four different sand timers. Each one is 3.5” tall and the base is 1” wide. The four sand timers include: one minute timer in red, two minute timer in blue, three minute timer in yellow, and five minute timer on green. After testing, all timers were accurate. I love that the timers have the minute(s) on both sides. This set also includes a small brochure which gives some different school activities.I mainly purchased this set for the five minute timer. I needed something for the shower to help time a hair treatment that I use. I have to leave on my treatment for five minutes. I tried to keep a count in my head but it just wasn’t working so well. So I decided to search for a timer. I originally thought of a digital timer but I came across some problems like needing a battery, making sure it was waterproof, and how it needed to be hung in the shower. While searching for a timer I came across sand timers and thought this would be so much easier to handle and much cheaper. I was afraid that the sand may eventually get hard and stop working properly when leaving it in the shower. However, after three months of sitting in the shower, I haven’t had any problems at all. I’m very happy that I decided to get this set of sand timers.

Minuscule amounts of grains remain in the top chamber, but it functions reliably, is color-coded, and gives one the option to combine minute-increments. Price is slightly high, but overall I’m satisfied with the product and I think you will be too. Great for board games!

They’re pretty solid

I bought these to play a homemade version of win lose or draw. They are good quality for the price. I have no complaints about them.

Although this is not an accurate timer, I’m deciding to give this a 5 star review because it is a good deal. With this timer, you have paid for a 5 minute timer but the manufacturer was nice enough to add 10 seconds. It is a 5 minute and 10 second timer. See the attached photos for when I timed the timer. I also had each timer compete against each other in a race. There was one that may have been a 5 minute and 15 second timer and that one finished last. I performed these tests on a completely level surface (see the picture of the level in the background) so there was no gradient error. I also controlled for different pressure systems by performing this test in my living room. there could not have been wind. Some may point out the the electronic timer I timed the timers on may not keep accurate time. The manufacturer of the electronic timer is Apple. They are a good company but there is no way to know which timer is accurate. I would recommend taking advantage of this deal.

These are decent and they get the job done. I like the different time intervals, and they are clearly marked.They are however a bit cheaply constructed (some of the end caps are slightly askew). It can also be a little difficult to see the sand falling for the lighter colors. They work fine, I just wish they were a tiny bit better quality.

Works great. I got these for my daughter for brushing her teeth, we mostly use the two minute timer. These will definitely last and I lover the bright colours.
