very pleased
I was skeptical at first sight but it worked perfect for my yard. Buried an electric fence wire, only went 3 to 4 inches. No directions came with mine but it was easy to figure out. I had to dig a little hole at depth I wanted to get started. Used my UTV. No complaints, my soil is not hard

Nice design, but SOFT metal!
I really like the design and price of this item and it works well. However, be aware that the cast iron is VERY soft on the ripper blade! As you can see in the photo, the blade bent (I only had it in the ground a few inches) and caused the finish to flake off. I got the job done, but I have never seen cast iron that thick bend in the "wide" direction! If it had not bent, I would have given it 5 stars. I don't know if I'll use it again or not. The angle when mounted is a bit off now.

Perfect way to trench using UTV
After digging with pick-axe, hoe, shovel. Spud bar, and sore back and shoulders I thought I would try this device on my UTV and what an excellent alternative. It works amazingly simple. I suggest using a bolt rather than the one pin to fasten the locator hole to use the bar since you will be moving to different locations and re-positioning the digger bar. The pin gets damaged and difficult to remove and reinstall. I love it.

Cheap product
Cheaper steel bent it already. Good for beach sand nothing else

Not so great. Unless the ground is 100% level, forget it.
Alright, folks, get ready for a real downer of a review. This is Lenny Bruce here, bringing you a less-than-stellar take on the Racewill Hitch Lawn Mounted Ripper for ATV/UTV. Strap in, 'cause it's gonna be a bumpy ride. Now, let me start by saying this contraption is about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. I mean, seriously, what were they thinking? The Racewill Hitch Lawn Mounted Ripper promises to revolutionize your gardening game, but all it really does is make a mockery of the very concept of digging a small trench.First of all, let's talk about the design. It looks like a Frankenstein's monster of metal and janky engineering. It's an eyesore, plain and simple. And when it comes to functionality, well, let's just say it's more likely to rip your hair out than actually dig into the soil.Speaking of digging, this thing couldn't penetrate a paper bag if its life depended on it. I tried using it on my lawn, hoping for some sort of groundbreaking miracle, but all I got was disappointment. It barely scratched the surface, leaving my soil as hard and unyielding as my ex-wife's heart. And don't even get me started on the attachment process. Whoever designed this monstrosity must have been having a laugh. It's like a puzzle from hell, with bolts and screws that seem to have a mind of their own. It took me far too long just to get the darn thing assembled , and by the time I was done, I was ready to call it quits and go back to good old-fashioned elbow grease. But perhaps the biggest insult of all is the price tag. This abomination of a lawn tool costs an arm and a leg, and let me tell you, it's not worth a fraction of that. I'd sooner throw my money in a blender than spend it on this sorry excuse for a ripper. So, there you have it, folks, my brutally honest review of the Racewill Hitch Lawn Mounted Ripper for ATV/UTV. Save your time, save your money, and save yourself the headache. This thing is a comedy of errors, a tragicomic tale of wasted potential. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for your gardening needs. Trust me, your lawn will thank you.

Great Trenching Device
Used it today 12/15/23 to cut a trench about 80 ft long for 1/2" conduit to run ethernet cable. Attached it to the hitch of my ATV. Cutting the trench took about 30 to 45 seconds and only had to do some minor dirt clearing before laying the conduit. Got another 2,000 ft of various length trenches to do and this device is going to make it easy and quick.

Product support is top notch
One of the few sellers who actually listens to customers. The ripper didn’t work out too well in my case I purchased it for specifically as I was working tough compacted soil with lots of tree roots. The soil was never worked previously between tree rows. However for soil that’s been worked or for use in area without significant roots this would work just fine.

Small but sturdy.
All the pieces are included in this. I just mounted it behind my 4-wheeler. Easy to mount. I can adjust the height for the depth. Small all in all but heavy in weight, pretty durable and sturdy for its size. I don't trust it will last as long as I want it to, especially when using it often on the ground. The metal is well coated, so that will prevent this thing from rust. Good little contraption for small jobs around the yard.

Not well made
The first time I used the the shaft bent. My dirt is not overly hardIf you are using in very soft soil it might be ok otherwise avoid this.
