Great set - be careful of minifigure images
This is a great set - almost on par with real Lego. The bricks are good quality and the model is good - well built, not fragile, etc. If you want to start off building the little models, then there is one bag per model, which is handy. But if you want to build the big spaceship right off the bat, you have to open ALL the bags, so I recommend sorting the pieces into trays or bowls so that you can find pieces later. The box is high quality and reusable. The windshield even came in its own plastic bag to keep it from being scratched. My only complaint is that the box and instruction book both show minifigures, but none are included. The listing on Amazon doesn't mention or show minifigures, so I wasn't expecting any. But if you're giving this set to a kid, you might want to cover the images of the minifigures with black tape or something so they aren't disapointed.

easy to assemble
I order this for my 7 years old son, he loves this Mars Research Shuttle Toy Building Kit and spends hours building the Shuttle in the kit. He is so excited because the Mars Research Shuttle is his favorite. Although the kit has a lot of small pieces the instruction manual is well written and easy to follow for my 7 years old. This is a great building kit, just a little bit too easy to build.

Great for the price, lackluster build experience
Finally got around to putting this together. My oldest is 10 and an avid Lego builder, offbrand and all. My review's paraphrased from him.First off, our little astronaut dudes were missing. The last page of the instructions shows build directions for them but they weren't in our box at all, and honestly.... mini figs are lowkey the best part. The box doesn't make it terribly clear that you can build the 8 small things OR the large shuttle and pieces in the middle. If you look and think about it you can see it but it's not stated well at all.In regards to that, if you go the Build 8 Small Things route and *then* decide you want the shuttle, you're gonna tear everything down completely to put the big one together, not mash 'em together transformer style.Final judgement: Not bad for an auxiliary parts set or budget build.

Fun building block toy!
The Mars Research Toy Kit came as advertised, with multiple different items that can be built. The instructions are thorough enough, and are broken down into sections for each of the different items. The blocks fit together well. If you're in the market for a toy like this, you won't go wrong with this one.

Poor quality control, avoid unless you just want pieces
If you're looking for some knockoff legos to supplement your current sets, this could be ok. $23 for 400+ pieces isn't bad, and the pieces are identical to legos. However this company seems to be lacking in quality control. The problems: The packaging doesn't make it clear that you can't make everything on the box at once. You can either make the 8 smaller things, or you make the big ship with a couple small things. So your kid may be disappointed when they can't build everything. The stickers area a bit of a pain. Despite being in the bottom of the box for some reason the sheet was all wavy which made peeling and applying them tricky. The size of them: the stickers are essentially too big. If you don't apply them juuust perfectly they'll overlap pieces of go over the edges. The instructions: So far we've only done the final large build, but there are steps for the wings that will show a zoomed in couple pieces and how they need to go together. But if you follow that step, it won't look like how it shows in the next step and won't connect properly. The final page of the instructions give you directions for assembling the mini-figures. The same mini-figures you can see in some close up images on the box. Either these are missing, or don't come with this set despite being in the instructions. There are a couple little pieces that basically look like little levers/joysticks, and there are some little hinged pieces that are the size of a 1x2 block. For some reason these little pieces don't come already together, which is a pain. The base for one of the lever pieces actually cracked on me when inserting the handle piece. I have bought many lego sets over the years and never had these pieces arrive separated. Personally, I think this company does that to claim more pieces to the set than are really there. And finally, customer service must be nonexistent. There is no listing of part numbers to contact them in case you need replacement parts/are missing anything. Then again, there's no contact info for the company anywhere on the packaging. Honestly, if it wasn't for the amazon page I couldn't even tell you what company made this. Honestly, I recommend staying away from this set unless you just want extra lego pieces.

Nice Lego set
This 416 piece Mars Research Shuttle Lego set will make any kiddo (or adult) thrilled to put together. This set has different models to put together and play with. Great for the kiddos to keep their minds busy while learning. Would recommend

Decent Set, Missing Pieces
I've always wanted to see what the quality was like in these building sets made by someone other than The Big Building Block Company. To my surprise, each piece had the same look and feel as the name brand equivalent. The instructions were small, but clear and easy to understand. One issue arose in that while all the pieces for the model were packaged, the minifigures were not, despite them being identified as parts in the instructions.Overall, if you are looking to save a few dollars by going with a set non-name brand set, this is a good option, but only if you are willing to accept the risk of not all the pieces being included.
