Programed the Spare Keys myself.

Works perfectly with my 2003 Ford F150. I was able to have a local locksmith grind the keys for $1 apiece, took them home and was able to program the keys using the method found on youtube and I even found the procedure in the owners manual of the truck. You must have the two original factory keys to program a spare. But it works! Now I use the spare keys as my regular keys and keep the factory keys in a safe place at home in case I lose a key and need to make another new one. There are several versions of chip keys being sold for different years, make sure you get the keys that work with your vehicle year. I'm Very happy.

Worked Great on a 2001 Lincoln Town Car!

They programmed and cut very well for my 2001 Lincoln Town Car! I had to have them cut at a locksmith and programmed at a dealership, and I was complimented on the quality of being from Amazon. I have them for backup keys, so I am not sure of the quality with daily use, but they worked great for backup keys.

Great replacements. Also how-to DIY.

Work perfectly. To prepare these keys for yourself you need to get them cut at either a Home Depot or Lowes, just have them cut it as the non-transponder version of the key. You then need to get a laptop with FORSCAN and the appropriate adapter, there are tutorials for this on youtube. you will also need the extended license for the Forscan software, you can either get a 2 month free trial by emailing them or buying a 1 year license for $12. One more thing, programming takes a little while as it has a lockout time interval to avoid someone just walking in your car and programming a key in 30 seconds. The interval is 12 minutes, which means 12 minutes that your car is running just off the battery. If you have a weak battery id highly recommend either replacing it or putting on a battery charger while you're programming, if the battery dies while programming you can potentially brick your entire PCM.

Dud keys

I bought these specifically for a 2002 Ford Ranger, which is listed as compatible. The keys I received had a small dot stamp. Per the locksmith, this indicates either a bad transponder chip, or... I forget the second indication. The upshot is, it did NOT work. When attempting self-programing, I got a rapid blink instead of a steady 5-second-on light. A rapid blink means the key is not compatible.I had to buy keys from the locksmith stamped with an "SA" instead of a dot.I've learned my lesson. It's a shot in the dark if a third-party key will work with your car. This is actually the 2nd time I've attempted to order a key (first time wasn't from Amazon), and both times I got incompatible keys. Next time I need a car key, I'll get one from the knowledgeable local locksmith.Addendum: Older cars like my 2002 Ranger limit you to a max of four programmed keys. Even if the key you buy is compatible, if extra keys have been made at anytime in the past, once all four memory slots are used, you cannot add any new keys without first clearing memory and reprogramming back in your existing and new key(s). This takes someone with the right OBD plugin equipment to do it, like a locksmith. This could also explain why some people haven't been able to self-program keys on their own.

Worked OK but some issues

Product didn’t come with instructions as advertised, but I was able to find correct directions for my 2010 Ford E250 van. First key programmed on first attempt with no issues. Second key didn’t work after several attempts. Tried second key the next day and was able to program on first attempt. I was able to do both with the original two keys that I had, no need for plug in device to program. My local Ace Hardware cut both the blanks for free.

Save money and do it yourself

These worked perfect. I had the keys cut for 5 dollars per key and reprogrammed the key myself with a 70 dollar item that also included a key! The dealer and mobile locksmiths were quoting 600+ for one key.
