Spigen Rugged Armor Designed for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Case (2017) - Matte Black

Not much to write about a single layer case, besides I'm sure you want a quick, honest review. I hate reading too short of a review with limited info...that doesn't help a potential buyer make a decision. So with regard to this SPIGEN Rugged Armor Case:Materials/Quality: Just do a quick Google search for SPIGEN and you'll see the history of successful products and happy customers. This case clearly shows why. It's a soft flexible material...plastic/rubber compound blend, but with a nice textured back. Wonderfully designed!Fitment: I've read a number of reviews that mentioned this case has loose fitment on the sides (near the curved edges of the phone). Though not extremely tight on the sides, it has good fitment and you dont have to worry about your expensive phablet falling from the grasp of the case. Again this is a single layer case, so there will be expected "FLEX" in order to apply and remove it without potential damage to your phone. This case is of excellent design and fitment! The button response is perfect and clicky; adds a textured Bixby button which feels good; all cut-outs are precise and the S-Pen is easily accessible with this case; raised lips at top and bottom chins, which adds screen protection if you lay your phone face down; rear camera cut-out is recessed to protect it from scratches and drops.Conclusion: This is one of the best cases I've owned on ANY phone and that says a lot for a "techy" like me. It has the build quality that feels great in hand. It adds a stylistic layer of protection to your expensive investment. It has a minimalist design that makes carrying this big phone feel less noticeable...all while looking good and confidently adding drop protection with proven results.With all that said, I will say this: I take great care of all my devices and have not dropped my phone with this case other than on carpet, so no issues thus far. I honestly feel this case would do it's designed job if such a drop to concrete were to happen. This case is a major, major, major GO! (In my Flossy Carter voice) 😎👍🏽

Hands down the BEST case. Period. I've dropped it several times; no issues. However, last night it fell out of my pocket from about 25-30 feet on to a marble surface. NOT A SCRATCH. The S-pen did detach from the unit but no damage to it or the receptacle for the pen. Phone is in perfect condition.The grip actually becomes easier to hold after awhile and it is so sleek you feel like it's not even there. Plus if you have the black Note 8, it blends seemlessly. You can put it into your front pocket too! No issues with the buttons; it even differentiates for the annoying Bixby button so you dont accidentally hit it.Cant say much else except for that I dont ever give reviews. This is my first one but after last night, I feel it's the best $11 I spent to protect a $900 phone. Even as a back up case this is a good investment. I cant imagine the more expensive ones doing any better.My mom's Otterbox desinigrated 1-2years after. This is showing no signs of slowing down (even with the drops, hardly a scratch on the case itself). Make what you want of that.

Very slim which I liked I don’t like them bulky good quality and durable

This case fits, looks and feels great.. Fit was perfect on it without taking away from the main feature of the phone, curved screen. No wiggle room or movement. Look is a matte black with a cool carbon fiber piece. It has a nice blacked out look. Feel is a softish feeling hard rubber. Does not slide off my hand and is very slim. Barely adds anything to the phone on width but enough where it fits well in my hand. Clearance is just right for the Edge widget also which I love. Finger print scanner is easy to use and because of the way the case is raised in the back right where the camera is, it makes it easy to place my finger. I ended up scanning my finger sideways on my left hand in the position that I normally hold the phone. Works great because of the case and how it guides/holds my finger. Would be 5 Stars except for when you add a tempered glass. The case and the tempered glass fit perfect where they barely touch edges. So the case pushes up a bit on the screen protector, just enough to release the sensitivity. Little bummed but it works OK with the other case I bought, which is a full on case not a slim. So if you plan on using a tempered glass screen protector, keep that in mind. Ports at the bottom are accessible just fine. Stylus does not pop out that far so I use my nail to pull it out instead of two fingers. No biggie as it is not an issue or hard. Buttons on the side are perfect and not hard or cumbersome to press. I can easily do a screenshot with one hand. I had a Spigen case on my Note 4 that was just as good. They continue to have a great product.

I bought this case for my note 8 to have until the case I wanted came in. I was pleasantly surprised with how nice the case is for being one of the cheaper cases available. It is not bulky at all. I did accidentally test the drop protection by tossing the phone on the bed and having it bounce and fall about three feet onto the hardwood floor and everything was fine! The case fits very well and almost seems to be part of it. Everything lined up perfect. The pen was easy to get out too. They probably could have left the pen hole a little smaller to protect the corner of the phone better but it is fine the way it is.This case is not very "grippy" which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you are looking for.I also had the Spigen Neo Flex screen protector on with it and there was no problems with them fitting together at all.Overall a great case. Is there cases that protect better? Sure. But for normal everyday use with the occasional drop it should be just right.
