I grew up on this as the basis of a favorite dessert (that happens to be a northern German “national dish.” When in Hamburg, I think I saw it on every menu, from the simplest to the fanciest restaurants!). I add about 24-28 ounces of macerated raspberries and/or a mix of raspberries and strawberries — fresh or frozen — to the base pie-filling recipe on the box, refrigerate for a few hours, and serve it with a splash of heavy cream or 1/2 & 1/2 on top. It takes minutes to make, and it’s pure ambrosia. Seriously, as tasty as any dessert you’ve ever eaten, as crazy as that sounds. After not having had it in probably 20 years, it has now become a nightly staple for me. I never tire of it. Btw, adding the fruit stretches the contents of each box from 4 servings to between 5 and 6. And with a tablespoon of sugar for macerating the fruit AND adding a tbsp of heavy cream before serving, it’s still only between 175 and 190 calories per very delicious serving. What a winner!

My mom made this delicious pudding for us 60+ years ago. Then it disappeared off grocery stores' shelves, and I had to find the company and beg them to send packages to me. Now I'm happy to report it is now easily available on Amazon.

Even if you're not a Dane, this pudding is over the top. I was raided on it, 70-to-80 years ago by my Danish grandmother (bestemor), and I crave it. Simple, quick, delicious. I just make a straight pudding.

Could not find this in the stores anymore and used it for a special dessert. So happy I decided to look on Amason!

I have loved Danish Dessert for more than 50 years. I usually add the powder to a large mug then stir in 1.5 cups of boiling water. Stir until dissolved. Put on a "chick flick" and enjoy.

The only gelatin my wife uses for her cherry pies. Every one loves the pies and want to know what she uses to thicken the juices. Can only get it online cannot find in stores
