If your struts are still the original Jaguar part, you might want to proactively change them.
I purchased a set of these for my other Jaguar X-Type a few months ago from another source. I was pleased to find them on Amazon at a very good price point. They were easy to install, an exact fit.I strongly recommend and took my own advice by purchasing these for my 2nd Jaguar X-Type. The struts were the Jaguar original parts in both cars and the hoods were not "safe" to work under. A wind gust had demonstrated this and fortunately no one was under the hood at the time. With these new struts in place, that issue has been resolved. They are sufficient to keep the hood open, even with a few wind gusts.

Spot on. Works perfectly with my 2005 Jaguar X-Type. Previous replacements had behaved very strangely when very hot being under the hood. Also these have very smooth operation. Great product.

Wrong length
I have used BOXI products many times in my autos and customers also but I bought these two for my 2001 Mercedes E320 wagon and they fit perfect with enough length to open hood BUT when you want to put hood in SERVICE MOOD it's too short... I think the normal length is 20 inchs and up this one is 18 inch... So if you have a Mercedes W210 this will fit and work ok but not long enough to fully open hood.

Fit and worked perfectly!!!!
I got these for my 2004 Jaguar X-Type these were for my front hood and they fit perfectly and with ease took about 10 minutes to install. I would buy again if need be.
