NEIKO 02434A 3/8-Inch-Drive Standard and Deep Impact Socket Set, 6-Point SAE Sizes from 5/16" to 7/8", CrV Steel, 20 Pieces

As someone who takes on mechanical projects more as a hobby than a profession, I recently found myself in need of an impact socket set for use with my Milwaukee M12 driver. High-end, brand-name sets seemed overkill for my level of use, leading me to the NEIKO 3/8-Inch-Drive Impact Socket Set. This set appeared to offer the balance of quality and affordability I was looking for.Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was the uneven coating of oil on the sockets, intended to prevent rust. While initially a bit concerning, it turned out to be a minor issue that didn’t affect the set's functionality. The sockets themselves are robust and have so far handled the tasks I've thrown at them with ease. From casual automotive work to various home repairs, this set has proven to be quite capable.The practicality of this NEIKO set is its standout feature. It's straightforward and unpretentious, yet it includes some commendable qualities. The durability, thus far, has been satisfactory. One month into using them, and they've shown no signs of wear or failure, which speaks to their build quality for the price point.While not adorned with the prestige of more recognizable brands, this socket set fulfills my requirements perfectly. It's a practical choice for anyone like me—a simple mechanic who enjoys dabbling in projects without needing professional-grade tools. I plan to monitor the longevity of these sockets and will provide updates on their performance. As of now, they are a valuable addition to my toolkit, effectively supporting both my work and home repair needs.

This is the only 3/8 socket set that I need, it covers all of the bases. the only con is that the sockets may come out of place. I glued in some neoprene in it and it's perfect now. This socket set is the best bang for the buck!

Great price point. Tools are fair. Durable. More likely to be stolen than broken

Bought this to use with my Makita impact to make it faster and easier to change out cutter teeth on my Swather they work great and the case is sturdy, has be rattling around in my truck for over a gear now and still works like new

Overall I am happy with this impact socket set I have used them quite a bit with both pneumatic and electric impact guns both 3/8 and 1/2 drive with an adapter. No complaints really the sockets seem to be made well, the sizes are not too tight or too loose and the metal seems to be properly heat treated and the black oxide coating does its job. The case is also pretty good too its standard blow molded plastic but the design is good there is not a bunch of wasted space so the case is slim and seems to be pretty durable.I have experienced one failure and that was with the wobbly joint which is not really surprising because it was a pinned type wobbly and those fail pretty much without fail.I do wish the sockets were a bit thinner but lets be realistic and look at the price and not compare them to something like a Snap On or Matco impact socket. I would have liked a little bit less oil/preservative coating on them from the factory but that really is nitpicking.Overall I would say a fair value for the money.

I think it's a nice kit and seems to be pretty good quality for the price so I would recommend them to any home mechanic that is wanting a kit like this.

I've had this set for close to a year and I beat them up! Use them on my milwaukee m18 3/8" impact and my 1/2" m18 milwaukee impact! Hammer them onto bolts in tight places. Hammer them off or out of tight spaces. They hold up great on anything I do. I haven't stripped a bolt yet for stripped a socket out. Use them with my torque wrenches daily. I quite literally never touch my chrome sockets except for very very specific situations. The deal for this beats harbor freight by a landslide. I am a diesel service technician for New Holland tractors and farm equipment and genuinely these are the best sockets. Would buy them over and over again over tool truck sockets, and yes I do have a lot of tools off the namebrand trucks but THESE SOCKETS are the best I know of.
