Very nice fixture. Good quality
Very nice fixture. Good quality, good instructions, shipped quickly. I opted to buy this instead of a less expensive model that looked similar because of the brand and the free one-day shipping on amazon. I installed it without the escutcheon (plate on the bottom) on a single hole sink. It comes with lines attached so you don't need to buy any - saves a bit of money since it's a bit expensive. Worth every penny though. You will need plumbers putty for the plastic part you bolt to the bottom of the faucet to sit on the sink as well as for the drain. Easy to use, you can look up a video on youtube. Just form a bead in your hand, roll it into a string between your palms until it is 1/2 cm thick. Press it around the bottom of the faucet and the drain where each will touch the sink. Place them and tighten, wipe away the excess. Wait a few hours for it to harden before you use or it could wash away.I have an old house so I needed some additional 1 1/4" brass tubing and a 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" adapter I bought locally. Easy installation despite that. Worst part will be getting the old faucet off.

Nice faucet - improved flow after removing flow restrictor
The faucet looks really nice and was easy to install, it is pricy but in the end it is worth it. The flow was quite low with the factory configuration and that's about the only thing I dislike about it. After taking out the flow restrictor, the flow is much better and now I can decide how much flow I want, I don't need the aerator to decide that for me. I have included some pictures showing the removal of the flow restrictor off of the backside of the aerator. After taking out the white cap, remove the pick insert. Then reinstall with the provided aerator turning key.

A real improvement for my vanity sink
I kept watching my old (non-Kohler) vanity faucet with mineral crud seeping through the seam joining the upper and lower sections and knew it was bound to blow soon. Since I've had good experiences with Kohler kitchen faucets and not-so-much with the bathroom one, I searched for Kohler. I picked the shiny finish which arrived quickly to be installed by a licensed plumber. I chose the shiny finish and it makes me smile every time I use it. (An interesting and pleasing design feature I didn't note during the ordering process is that the handle tapers a bit from the back forward to the tip of the handle.)

Pretty easy install, looks gorgeous
The only downsides are the priceiness and a slight lack of clarity in the instructions. But I've only installed one faucet prior to this, so experienced people will likely find it a piece of cake. When installing the lever for the drain popup, there's a nylon washer that sits next to the nylon ball, but it's not shown in the instructions. The washer looks symmetrical, but it seemed I had to flip it to get it the thing to screw on right. It is built very well, no looseness anywhere, and the only thing you'll need are a couple tools and plumber's putty.

Easy Installation, Easy to Clean
Very nice product. Works perfectly. Super easy to clean. Accurate installation instructions. Replaced a three-piece Delta setup that was impossible to clean. Nice that each faucet came with both an escutcheon for covering a three-hole sink and for a single hole sink. Super happy with these.

Nice design---especially if you get it with the rest of the Kohler Alteo line of bathroom hardware
This is a handsome design, and you should realize that you only need the slightly clunky base if you have a three-hole sink. They look best without the base in a one-hole sink, and the base is purely optional, fortunately. On the plus side, we got towell bars, toilet roll holder, towel ring and robe hook all from the Kohler Alteo line, providing a sleek coordinated look to the bathrooms, and we would have gotten the shower head from this line as well if we had it to do over again. We got 80% of the design quality of vastly more expensive bathroom hardware for half the price of the high end stuff--kind of like how our Mazda 3 gives us 80% of a Beemer for half the price--and still seems to have comparable reliability. Computerized manufacturing techniques have shrunk the distance between cheap and expensive products in general. Our new faucets replace cheap Home Depot house brand faucets that worked reliably without any problems for over a dozen years, while the ones we had before that were unreliable, requiring maintenance and having leakage issues that the Home Depot products didn't have. That's how much thinks have improved in a generation. But the inexpensive stuff still doesn't look at good as midrange products like the Alteo line. Also, high arc faucets like this make it easier to fill water bottles, especially the tall-ish ones bicyclists use. it's also easier to rinse after brushing your teeth if you like to stick your head under the faucet instead of using a glass. On the negative side, we found that the faucet's drain rod (the little thing you see peeping out in the back of the faucet in the photo) pulls up at an angle, which can foul on the backsplash, if you have a backsplash and/or the mounting hole is too far back. This is the sort of thing that's easy to miss when you're shopping. It's not a defect in the product--just something to need to be aware of.Likewise, it's not a defect that the faucet uses a smaller than normal aerator, but if you want to attach a valve for a pet/shampoo sprayer to the faucet, you'll need a step-up ring. Not a problem for 99% of buyers, and the step-up rings are easily available for online order. But we'd already gotten a Dawn (Taiwanese brand) single-handle faucet for our other bathroom, which has a normal-diameter aerator, and only cost a little more than the Kohler, so we went with the Dawn and returned the Kohler faucet. We also liked the design of the Dawn faucet's handle a bit more.More importantly, the flow restrictor and the aerator are a single component, so if you remove one you remove both--making the water flow unacceptable to most--whereas with the comparably styled Dawn product (AB77) they're separate pieces, so you can keep the aeration even without the flow restrictor.I think most buyers would be happy with the Kohler, unless the slightly greater design sophistication of the comparable Dawn product matters to you. One important price factor is that while the chrome versions of the Kohler and the Dawn faucets were close in price, the Dawn faucet in brushed nickel cost a lot more. So your choice could be different depending on which finish you want.

Wonderful! The handle operates very smoothly
Wonderful! The handle operates very smoothly. It is also very quiet when streaming water. Unlike another reviewer, I did not experience the shower effect. Instead I found the flow of water to be just right with no splashing. The only thing I noticed that was odd was black specks coming out of the water the fist two or three days after installing. I have no way of knowing if this was my water quality, something the plumber did, or something in the faucet. It has not happened since, so I am very happy with this lovely looking well performing faucet.

Perfect for my needs
Since the Kohler Refinia faucet was too pricey to match the valve trims in the shower, and I needed a 5" spout reach for the sink that came with the vanity, this Alteo was a very close match at a more reasonable price, and has the needed spout reach for the drain of the sink.

Attractive faucet
Wasn't sure how this faucet would work in our bathroom, but absolutely no regrets. Love it.

looks great, and works.
Received this single handle facet in Dec within 3 days of ordering. Solid, looks great, and works well, I installed on granite and did not use the base chrome platform. In this case, from the counter top to the top of the handle (when on) is 8 1/4".
