Will my 72" x 24" mat fit in this bag?

It's a little snug, but mine does fit.

will this fit a 5mm thickness mat and 2 blocks?

Not a chance! The bag is a tight fit for just the mat alone, and the pocket does not expand like the description says. I don't recommend this bag anyway as the zipper is very cheap.

Does this bag fit a yoga mat and a mat towel, or just the mat itself?

I have this bag it easily fits my 3mm mat (Gaiam) and the Thirsty Mat Towel (also Gaiam) if I wrap the towel around my mat after it's already rolled up, and it still has room for me to use the pockets. I hope that helps!
