Now, I am an experienced elder amateur and this is an early report. The hinges just arrived today and I probably won't get time from the season and other things until after the new year.These hinges look really nice for having hidden hinges and relatively small loads. I am putting two doors into cabinets in a bathroom I am finishing. It is all custom and you need to be comfortable with a router to make the space for the hinges to fit in. I don't expect any serious issues for myself, although the tolerances I have will be tight.They are very high grade and should work well for me unless I mess up. I expect to come back in a month or so with details on the project and hopefully a very happy result. I used invisible hinges everywhere in the room and asked my wife if she wanted these two last doors to be the same and got the answer I expected.Well, I underestimated the difficulty of making the carefully built cavities for the hinge to fit into. I am on my second pair and It has been really hard to get my router table, router, and fixturing to work well enough to make the required steps. I have tight tolerances to fit the cavity into the door and matching stationary side. Things have to be very well controlled so as to get depth of where the hinge screws hold it with the right gaps. The process involves thin sidewalls, which require great care (perhaps partly because of my choice of oak for the doors.If jigging for many similar hinge settings, then the problem is at least shared by many instances. For single implementations, I am regretting my choice, but will continue and the results will be very nice.I rate these hinges as requiring very challenging for any but very high level wood workers. The quality of the hinges is great, but the installation requires high skill after you have dealt with little dimensional information or instructions from the seller

For the price, you get what you pay for. No documentation, nada.The opposing sides do not align exactly, as there is a slight offset to most of the pieces I purchased. This makes accurate install quite problematic. The material is cast metal, it looks to be brass that's chrome plated, the hinge sets are steel.
