The author does a good job of combining theory with practical usage, especially regarding the use of social media and the Internet. Quite a few modern day examples of crisis management are given.It should be noted that the text in this book puts an emphasis on organizational crisis management vs crisis management for individuals and personal reputation. This is a whole other kettle of fish, but would make a worthwhile subject in itself. If that's what you are looking for though, you might want to look for additional reading materials.In addition to dealing with a current crisis the book also includes chapters on crisis prevention and rebuilding of organizational reputation, which not many other books seem to touch on. This book is well worth your time as a primer on crisis management or as a reference to have on hand for when the unexpected occurs in your organization.

A brand new entry to the field, this text is an erudite and comprehensive look at crisis management. This work presents best practices for the prevention and containment of crises. This transformational volume surpasses earlier works in the field by explicating ALL modes of communication in the face of calamity as well as systems and leadership. Wonderful!

"Crisis Management: Resilience and Change" by Sarah Kovoor-Misra is very good overall. The middle is a little challenging in that it loses a bit of focus. However, the first quarter is really good and the last quarter of the book is very good as well. The author does make the subject relevant and easy to follow. I also like that it does go overlong (except for maybe that chapter on trans-formative individuals). It is definitely worth a look for anyone interested in crises management.

This isn't bad per se but is also not very cutting edge. I was hoping to learn something new as I do a lot of reading and some training related to this topic. Instead, this provided a very solid source of information - most of which is familiar and lacking in anything new or unique.
