Great book for a bedtime read. Almost garenteed to put you straight to sleep if read page by page. Great reference book for gears. Has a wide assortment of topics about gears and gear calculations.

Very in depth book that requires a extensive understanding of engineering and gear making as a prerequisite.

When I saw that the publication date was 2013 I thought the book might have references to modern CAD tools and spreadsheets. However after receiving the book the actual publication date is 1992. The book has been reprinted several times since 1992 but the material has not been updated.All the information, formulas, and calculation are still valid but the presentation leaves much to be desired.

The chapter on lubrication is somewhat thin and could be expanded on. With this it could be a valuable reference book

The book is undoubtedly an excellent reference; but my copy had a few pages missing in the binding - though it made a good bargain otherwise.
