I ordered the Medistrom "Pilot-12 Plus" backup battery for use with my Philips Respironics DreamStation. (According to the user manual that comes with the battery, they also make the "Pilot-24 Plus," which designed for use with the ResMed S9, ResMed AirSense 10, and the ResMed S9.) I received the battery from the Health Store N More in three days, which was much sooner than the projected delivery date. I did as Health Store N More suggested and sent them a message soon after ordering the battery and asked them to include with my order the free Universal travel plug. It is pretty decent, compact, and comes with a cloth bag for storage, so it is definitely worth requesting. The battery is very well made and a quality product. I received it fully charged and ready to use. It comes with a charger/plug to recharge the battery. Three output cables are included for connecting the CPAP to the battery backup: (1) a general output cable and two changeable connector tips that will fit whatever CPAP device is being used; (2) a cable specifically for the Respironics DreamStation; (3) and a third cable specifically for the Respironics RemStar System One S60. Each cable is labeled accordingly for easy identification. A cloth sleeve is included for storing the battery when not in use. As you can see from the photo I have included, when you turn on the battery, a blue light comes on to indicate that the power is on. Also, you can check the battery charge status by depressing a button that will display four green lights when the battery is fully charged. There is also a small LED flashlight. Not super bright, but it provides additional light if you need it for some reason and don't have a flashlight handy. I was able to use the battery for two and a half nights on a single charge without the humidifier in use. According to the user manual, using the CPAP humidifier while using the battery will discharge the battery much faster, so I am guessing that you would probably only get one night's worth of power if you decide to use the humidifier. Once the battery is nearing full discharge, an alarm sounds. I was surprised by that feature because I did not realize it had an alarm, but it is a definite plus! As the battery power depletes, the number of green lights that are displayed are also reduced accordingly with one green light displayed when the alarm sounded. After the alarm went off, the battery still had power and the flashlight still worked. However, I don't think you'll get much sleep with the alarm sounding :-) so charge up the battery after the second night of use. I plan to use the battery to power my CPAP when camping or otherwise traveling and do not have access to power. I highly recommend the purchase of this battery, which can also be used to charge your phone or similar device via the USB port. A great buy!

In mid-June 2022, my wife and I concluded a 73-day road trip in our Subaru Outback, which we had converted to a mini-RV for the occasion. The 15,818-mile trip extended from Mexico to Canada and from the Atlantic to the Pacific in the U.S.We slept in in the Subie RV for a total of 34 nights--mostly in campgrounds, but sometimes in the driveways of friends and family--and on each of those nights, I powered my CPAP machine with the 12-volt Medistron battery.It worked GREAT!Specifics: Phillips Dreamstation Two CPAP machine, with humidifier off, non-heated tube, using the Fisher & Paykel Simplus nose mask (which I thought might use less energy than my F&P nose/mouth mask). Medistron battery was charged while driving, using the accessory car charger. Charge time about three hours--maybe less. One charge powered the CPAP for two solid 9-hour nights of operation. Simple to charge and use.I could have used the Dreamstation's power block and cable to charge the Medistron battery from standard electrical outlets, but never needed to do so. Often we called on the Medistron to power and charge an iPhone and two iPads when their batteries ran low.As I've only owned the Medistron for a few months, I can't speak to its longevity--but it appears to be a well-built, quality product. I plan to charge it up at least twice a year as directed, and hope it will last for a lot more cycles.This thing is pricey, but in my application it was absolutely priceless.

I got this because being in the Santa Cruz mountains we experience frequent blackouts when it rains, and it's been raining and raining and raining. We have a backup generator but it seems we can never get it to work when we really need it, so I got this one for my husbands cpap he has a respironics that wasn't listed by style number but in doing other research it seemed that it should work with his model and it DOES...we had to use it for the first time this week as the power went out in the evening, our other outages had been during the day so didn't need it. It ran most of the night, when the power came back on I unplugged this and set it back to charging, just in case. It had only dropped one light, so I know it would have gone all night. My husband does not use the humidifier...do you really need it when it's been raining 40 days and 40 nights +Any one who has a Repironics Cpap I urge them to get one of these, the price is quite good and you can use it for travel, the dongle is quite larger but the unit itself is pretty small, it will fit in his Cpap travel bag, although the dongle might be a stretch and will have to go in the pouch for the hose.

Bought this just for emergency use since we experience frequent power outages. After a particularly bad outage that lasted three days, I knew I needed something like this for backup. It worked all the way through the night once, during the first night-time power loss a few months after I purchased it. I used it once or twice more, for short losses of power, and it seemed to work fine for the brief amount of time I needed it. Two days ago, using it for the 4th or 5th time less than two years after purchase, I only got two hours of power even though it indicated a full charge. Just to be sure, I charged it again the next day and used it last night: two hours max before dying. Extremely disappointing waste of $300 for a piece of junk. I don't know what else is available out there, but I guarantee you it will work better than this worthless brick.
