Don't tell anyone about this

This is the best invention for drywall tape. It was so easy to use, it keeps things clean and contained and works flawlessly every time. We taped drywall in a whole house with this in no time. I can't imagine ever doing drywall tape without the TapeBuddy again. Great for small jobs too! So easy, a kid could do it!

Buy this Tool!!

I think this is one of the best new innovations on the market for drywall taping. It is easy to use, does what it is supposed to, is easy to set up and clean and makes taping simple and clean. It also made taping quick and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tool.

Almost perfect for the DIYer

I needed to tape three rooms of drywall and the manual way of doing so takes forever. Rather than spend hundreds of dollars for the "professional" tools, I decided to try the Tape Buddy after watching some videos. It works great and does the job well. The only problems I have with it, and why I only give four stars, is that the holding area for the mud is rather small and it needs to be refilled more often than I would prefer. Because gravity pushes the mud down onto the tape, as the mud gets low, I find it doesn't flow as well onto the tape as when I have a full tank. I could make the mud thinner, but I don't want it that thin. The other problem I have is the issue when I run out of tape. Because the tape feeds through the bottom of the unit and runs along the inside bottom of the tank where the mud sits, when you run out of tape, you have to pretty much empty all the mud out so you can feed the new roll of tape through. Unless someone else knows how to get around this issue, this is the biggest problem I have with the unit. Otherwise, it works great and helped my job go a lot faster and eliminated the problem of blisters that manual work sometimes creates.

Great Product!

Saw a professional use this on YouTube and he recommended it. I was just about done taping and muddying but had one wall left so I thought I would give it a try. TOTAL GAME CHANGER!!! I really wish I would have had this building out my man cave and it’s super easy to use. Follow the instructions to set it up and make sure you have already filled your seems. When you’re ready to tape, put your tape in curve side up, fill with mud, pull off as much as you need, cut and put it on the wall. I had issues before getting not enough mud behind and had lots of blisters. This puts the right amount of mud on the tape EVERY TIME! Super easy to clean and so glad I have it now. One of the best things I have bought for doing mud and tape. And for the price you’re not breaking the bank to pick it up. Awesome value for the money.

Get this if you do a lot of taping

The TapeBuddy Drywall Tape Dispenser by Buddy Tools is a game-changer for anyone tackling a drywall project. This innovative tool has completely transformed the way I approach taping joints, making the process efficient, clean, and surprisingly enjoyable. One of the most significant advantages of the TapeBuddy is its ability to keep your hands virtually mess-free. While you'll inevitably get a bit dirty, the precision application of joint compound directly onto the tape minimizes the mess on your hands and surrounding surfaces. This feature alone saves you time and frustration, as you won't have to constantly wash up or clean tools. The ease of use is another standout feature. The TapeBuddy's design allows you to effortlessly load the tape and adjust the amount of compound dispensed. With a simple pull, you can apply perfectly measured strips of tape, ensuring a professional finish. The tool's sturdy construction and ergonomic handle make it comfortable to use for extended periods, reducing hand fatigue.

Might help?

Tried it. Faster with traditional mud/tape. If you don't pull level nearly all mud is scraped off. Didn't realize until the following day fixing blisters

Use like a super taper

My first effort with this was frustrating. I did not like pulling out tape and having a sloppy wet piece of tape flopping around while I'm trying to deal with it. I could use short little pieces of tape, and it worked better than nothing, but I was not sure I would try again. Then I learned about a super taper, which does something similar it pulls tape through a wet bucket of mud wetting one side and the difference is that you pull it into another bucket so you have a whole bucket full of taped of mudded tape which you then proceed to pull out and apply to the wall. It sounds like it couldn't possibly work. It works fantastically. After I did that a couple times I realized that the taping buddy could be used like a super taper, and I could pull 30 or 50 ft of tape into a bucket already mudded and then apply it from the bucket and that solved the problem. It's much cheaper than a super taper which is 150 to 200 bucks, and easier to clean, so I'm now using it preferentially over the super taper, at least for smaller jobs. If I'm going to pull over 100 ft or so the super taper is a little easier, maybe. So, use super taper technique with this too, IMO. There are a bunch of good YouTube videos on super tapers that will give you an idea of what I'm talking about. They are also called tape pullers sometimes.People have done a number of clever DIY versions also, which probably work fine now that I'm understanding all this, although this is cheap and easy enough that I'm not sure it's worth bothering with something else.

This is good for a DIY man

I am no pro. Everything I have learned is from watching Vancouver carpenter on You Tube. He went over tape buddy a while back but he also uses many other pro tools. Tap buddy is a fine tool for a man who is doing this as a one off deal I did a whole room with it and yeah it may take a little longer but we may be talking about an hour difference here and not a huge time cost. Its pretty easy to use you pull the tape through and slap it on the wall. It's a good deal if you ask me.
