ARM-Based Microcontroller Multitasking Projects: Using the FreeRTOS Multitasking Kernel

Excellent book! Ive been delving into the basics of FreeRTOS for 7 years! This book has made me understand within 1 month!I didn’t like the basics Microcontroller types etc.However, I liked the thorough explanations and examples given of FreeRTOS!

This is actually a pretty decent introduction to FreeRTOS, with a couple of glaring exceptions. However it is probably not any better than the free documentation. Where this book really fails is in its use of MikroElectronika aka MikroE mikroC and 'Click' boards. I have nothing against MikroE's boards, and little against their compiler (other than being non-standard C), but at the time I write this (scarcely a year after this book has been published) you cannot buy the demo board ("Click 2 for STM32") anywhere. The critical step of setting up FreeRTOS is neatly glossed over by downloading a pre-setup version for MikroC, a step of no use to anyone not using MikroC. Still, it's probably worth reading, if it's sitting in your lap, but probably not worth buying.
