This was very easy to assemble and is high quality. Note: We tried to use a new LED light bulb in it and it didn't work. I thought it was the lamp switch assembly and that I had done something wrong. We used a regular light bulb 40 watt and it worked just fine. Tried another LED we knew that worked, and it still didn't work with that.

This worked perfectly for my lamp repair/upgrade. The old non-polarized cord fed from the bottom of the vase through sharp metal points of potential damage. It's a wonder nobody had been injured over the years. The socket offers an optional grommeted side entry point so I didn't have to feed up through the vase. Also, it's antique brass which matched well. The instructions included the UL knot whose twists always escape my memory. If I had to include a negative, it would be that the rib on the neutral side of the cord is too faint, but it is there. There were more parts than my project required but you need to review them for your own situation. In the end, I have a much safer antique lamp.

Easy to assemble and reasonably priced

I admit I got use to a lamp with a nice picture of a lighthouse on it as my lamp by my desk, but after awhile (it has been awhile so i am going on memory) it started to turn off moments after turned on and it sounded like there was a short somewhere. I had put this in a "Florida room" (enclosed porch) and while it wasn't rusty before it was now (many of the pieces in this kit... those pieces) .... I decided that even though it caused me $15 or so counting tax... why not give this old lamp some TLC and not only fix the intial problem, but replace all the rusty parts ... so far (I did test it outside in case i messed up or it was going to spark or something) ... nothing bad .. lamp just came on and stayed on ... like it used to.I DO ADMIT i did not read the instructions, and i did do my fair bit of homework on how to do this (esp with the smooth wire being the hot wire and the "rigged" wire being ground. IT helped that the replacement socket looked exactly the same as the old one but i would have seen the wires anyway. I do admit too that i may have skipped a washer here or there, and i DID NOT try the wire that came with this kit ... I just used the one already fed through the lamp in question.Yeah I have an extra lamp now, but (others in the house) were probably ready to toss this out. Maybe this costs more than it should but eh ... I am very happy with my choice to fix this.It was pretty simple too .. the only issue i had on my lamp was getting enough of the screw piece (I also used the one already in my lamp, not the one in the kit) fed through so i could screw the bottom piece on ... once i got that done, it was easy.Also I did not take a total "inventory" of what i was suppose to get but including a few things I didn't use (a few extra washers) ... everything that I am 99% sure i was suppose to get, was in the package. I know some reviews say some things were missing. That wasn't the case for the one kit I ordered.

Easily used to fixed an older lamp that I couldn't part with.

I am so happy to find these parts for my Tiffany stained glass Lamp. It is one of my treasured table lamps. It had gotten damaged while moving to a new home. Thank you so much for providing replacement parts .

It's true that a lamp kit is relatively easy to install, but I would have appreciated better instructions to show me how to put all of this together. It's just one small sheet labeling the parts and one run-on paragraph.There's a random hole in the socket cap with no indication as to what it's for - should a screw be there, is it for air? Also, after putting it all back together the socket shell doesn't fit back into the socket cap very nicely. Thankfully it's not really a high traffic area and we don't have kids around often, but it's a little wobbly in there. Overall not the greatest, but it was inexpensive and got the job done.

I purchased two lamps when I was in Germany in the early 70's. This was a replacement because the original no longer worked. Very easy to install.
