Monsters and Mythical Creatures from around the World

I bought this book to give a little mythological history to D&D games. The book did not disappoint. It's filled with great history and folklore along with simple but nice illustrations. I very much like how the book is split into world regions so I can easily pick beasts from which the story I create is set. This book is awesome!

This is an awesome book. A definite recommend for Mythology lovers, though it could have more pictures in it.

Are they benevolent beings? Are they purely entertainment or do they embody a human virtue or vice? How do people emotionally react to mention of the creature?This book will help you understand the larger world beyond European fairy tales and Greek/Roman mythology.

I simply love these types of books and the effort to catalogue such information is appreciated !

This book offers a fun look at the myths, monsters and legends from so many areas. It’s also nicely illustrated. Fun for the enthusiast of sci-fi and such.

This book would be so much better if every entry had an illustration. However only every second or third entry is actually illustrated.

Great book and it came on time.

Tales of the Jack-a-lope and Mothman. And of course, mermaids. Nobody can read enough about mermaids. I let myself get hooked in. I don't know who illustrated this book, but they spent as much time on their art as the author did digging on Wikipedia.

My 8yr old loved it!
