Mittens (My First I Can Read)

A wonderful kid's book about a cute little kitten.
I love this cute book. Mittens is a cute kitten. I'm giving this book to my niece for the holidays. I know she'll love it. Mittens is a kitten that's brought to a new home. He seems scared at first. He tries to find the right spot to hide. Nick the kid tries to make him feel right at home. I recommend this book to any little boy or little girl who loves to read. I recommend it as an excellent birthday or Christmas gift.I remember a long time ago when my family brought home my late cat Skye. It took time for him to know his surroundings in his new home. But he got used to it right away.Great book! I know you'll love it. :)

Great learning to read book.
I decided on books for my nieces birthday this year. She just turned 3 and has a live for books. I chose this one because it has a nice little story yet it is a my first I can read. I have a feeling she will be a early reader and these types of books are just perfect for that. The book is a nice size she can hold it herself while it's being read to or you can grab it and go. It also had very nice pictures.

Precious Little Mittens
Little Mittens is the kitten children love to hear about, see in a book and read about; even if they have cats of their own! Something about that sweet face on a little grey and white kitten gets us everytime! These "I Can Read" books are perfect for children ages 2-6, I think. My grandchildren started "reading" them with moms and dads that early and are now recognizing words and reading along at 3 and 4 yrs. old. These type of books are invaluable to their love and understanding of reading. You'll be so happy you bought "Mittens" for children and grandchildren, alike.Deborah/GrammieBeePS: Mitten's a little naughty at times, too! :]

Illustrations make the book - First book in the series
The illustrator really helps you feel the emotions and hear the noises. Deals with adjusting to a new home. Spoiler: Mittens has a new home with a boy who says he will take care of her. She is nervous at first and tried to hide, but then cuddles up.

Really seems to be an apppropriate early reader level.
I bought this for my neighbor across the street, a little girls who is starting first grade soon. I wanted to pass on some summer reading for her. I read it myself and thought it was a great little story. Some books labeled Early Readers seem to have a few too many difficult words. I support learning to read with phonics.Ruth Jackins

Suitable for very young readers
Our little reader is not reading as yet, so we have to wait to see how she takes to it when we read it to her.
