The sound could been loud for the money but it still pretty good

I have contacted Craig Electronics tech support and will update review depending on their answer.A little background, I have profound hearing loss in the high frequency range of sounds, Most alarm clocks that are only alarm clocks use piezoelectric alarm speakers they are inexpensive and for most people would work just fine. My problem is that piezoelectric alarms are usually extremely high frequency, the result is I could be sitting right next to alarm clock and would barely hear it. In the past I had I had an alarm clock very similar to this one but was missing the update technology such as bluetooth, USB Port, and SD Card support. On a side note I've seen questions about this alarm clock having USB and SD Card support, this model CM427BT-BK does have those ports, the CM427-BK which looks exactly like this unit does NOT have USB, CD Card, or Bluetooth, I hope this clears the mixed answers that are searched. Back to my review EVERY mixed media alarm clock I've ever used in the past allowed you to wake on alarm or radio or CD for that matter, which is why I bought this in the first place I wanted to play a CD or MP3 that falls within my hearing range. It seems that that CRAIG is describing this product in its most literal description, an alarm clock, with extras tacked on to make it seem to be better product than it really is. The complaints I have read about poor sound extra are not really fair did you expect the sound quality of a Bose system for $49.00 that's just not fair in my opinion if you want great fidelity buy a product from one of the big name manufactures and pay the $200-500 dollars to get what you want. I completely agree the reviews that remote is overly complicated and not intuitive at all. If I receive information from tech support I'll update this review otherwise I would avoid buying this thing unless you just want a reasonably good alarm clock with really bad sound reproduction for the price. I would recommend buying a $7-10 alarm clock a separate decent CD-player and save $15-25.Update 2021/02/21. just by pure luck I noticed that when you push the alarm button the media source light would change, I thought to myself, Self could this be the way to select what would be the media that would be activated then the alarm time was met. The answer is yes at least for the radio and the CD player so I believe the other sources should work as well. I have an idea about the sound quality and the volume issue and will follow up. I changed my score from 1 to 4. I'll edit again if my next idea works. I still agree that the settings are not very well explained. I hope this helps people.Update 2021/03/25 I connected a pair of self powered speakers to this unit through the headphone connector (just remember to turn the volume way down so you don't burn out the speakers. This improved both the sound quality and the the amplitude of the device. Keep in mind there are two versions of this "Alarm Clock" one does NOT have the AUX output. Bottom line by the time you add powered speakers (if you don't have a pair already) this is not a good unit. If it wasn't for my inability to a something something with similar similar don't buy this thing unless you really need to.

The unit itself is a good bargain for the price but the speaker sound quality for music is subpar. I replaced the speakers with a couple of small bookshelf speakers that I had, and the sound is fantastic.

Bought this as a gift for a friend. This is the only radio I can find that has an AM and an FM tuner. It looks like radios are becoming quite rare, but this was a good value and sounds just fine

This Craig is OK! The speakers have very little Quality in sound, and the system itself lacks some quality. I'm hooking up some power speakers and a better antenna. The remote is ok but, a little hard and complicated to use. I'll keep it for a while, until I get more familiar with the product before I make any more decisions. I've had CRAIG in the past with no regrets. Let's see how this one works out. JJr.FOR $49.OO IT'S ok!

Despite its small size it puts out a great clear sound! I love the compact size. It's the solution to people with small places. The function keys are easy to work! I have no issues!

I purchased the Craig 3-Piece CD Stereo Shelf System with Bluetooth and AM/FM Radio on February 25, 2024, and unfortunately, it has been nothing but a disappointment. From the get-go, the speakers failed to work, rendering the entire system practically useless.Despite following the setup instructions meticulously, the speakers remained stubbornly silent. No matter what troubleshooting steps I attempted, there was no sound coming from them whatsoever. It's incredibly frustrating to invest in a product only to have it fail right out of the box.Given the reputation that Craig supposedly holds, I expected much better quality. Sadly, this purchase has left me thoroughly dissatisfied. I would strongly advise against investing in this particular stereo system unless you're fond of silent shelves.
