What you see is what you get
A good, solid television stand. It's made out of some of that composite board, and it came with a few very minor dings in the surface (which is that vinyl-type sleeving that fits over the particle board--very durable, but not indestructible), but aside from that was in flawless condition. Not difficult to assemble in the least. It takes a little while, though, as there are a lot of parts and it's best to organize it a little before beginning assembly. Television is wall-mounted, but the stand fits nicely underneath and covers the wires running down to the various devices. The shelves are all adjustable using small, rubber-capped pegs, so you can move them up or down a few notches to accomodate DVD's, blu-ray's, VHS tapes, or games.Just pay attention when assembling the cabinet doors that swing out with their cubby's. As others have noted, the directions are a little vague (but easy to comprehend, you just have to use some observation and discretion) so it's easy to accidentally have one of the shelf boards facing the wrong way, revealing the wood. Also, don't be discouraged if, during assembly, you notice the bottom base-board seems bowed in the middle and the feet don't all initially touch the floor, as everything more or less levels out after you put the whole thing together and load it with movies. It's a very nice "quiet" piece that doesn't draw a lot of attention to itself or the devices it's holding. The cabinets were what caught my eye, as they were designed so I could arrange my movies, games, 3D glasses, controllers, and peripherals so that I didn't have them over-lapping, forcing me to pull out the front rows to get to something I wanted that may be in the back. The handles have a nice, polished aluminum look, as do the legs, and the "finish" is a semi-gloss kind of black--again, you notice it's there but it doesn't draw the eye (thus not distracting from the television, which should be the centerpiece anyway).

Beautiful stand.
Beautiful stand. This is a really nice stand. It does mention that it is designed for 55" TV but I'm currently using it to hold a 65" Sony LED TV. The legs on the TV are closer to the middle than the edge and that is the only reason it can hold it so do bear that in mind if you also have a 65" TV you're looking to plop on here. The instructions are pretty idiot-proof. I assembled this thing in about 1 hour or so. The matte finish is super clean and modern and very compact. It does not take a lot of room at all and is fairly light considering it's size and capability. I'm also using it to hold a Sony STR-DN1050 receiver which JUST about fits in the centre bottom with very minimal ventilation but I knew that risk entering. The stand is very low without the legs, 19-inches tall which is exactly what I was looking for as the stand we had before this put the TV far too high and would strain our necks to watch. This stand creates the illusion of an even larger TV as it is closer to eye level and the TV takes up all of the space on the stand. You have the option to use the legs if you want to but I like the height that my TV is currently at so I chose not to use them.My only gripe I have with this stand is that there were some minor scuffs and scratches on the top panel of the stand when it arrived and it's not ideal, but I don't eat my dinner off it so I'm not going to go out of my way to spend more money to replace a surface I barely look at.All in all, this is the exact type of stand I was looking for to modernise a living room entertainment centre. If you're limited for space like I was and are looking for something which is well built, looks beautiful and won't break the bank, I can't really say you can do much better because I spent many hours trying to find something to compete with this and could not.

Not perfect, but surprisingly nice especially factoring in the price
The unit arrived in 9.8 out of 10 cosmetic condition. A center brace piece was not put in my box so I had to call their customer service. The customer service was extremely fast and easy to reach and promptly took care of sending the missing brace to me. The hardware was top notch and instructions were super easy to follow. Only a screwdriver and a hammer were required for assembly. Assembly took approximately 40 minutes. The only things that I consider to be wrong with this unit are fixable with a little bit more lumber, some glue, and some additional screws. What I think is wrong is that for my use, it needs additional strength added to the very top board where the TV will sit. The TV and stand that I am mounting on top of this console added together weigh 75 lbs. The top board, being made of 5/8" thick particle board and spanning 46" with one center brace under the middle will allow too much sag and warping down the road. So I will add solid wood ( not particle board ) braces where more strength is needed. I will have to paint the boards black to match as well.Hopefully, I can update this posting in the future to add photos of my mods. That way if some others are interested they can see how to modify theirs for additional strength as well. I would have given the console unit 5 stars if they had the strength already built into it. But, since their low price, ease of assembly, and customer service are all top notch, they should receive 4.8 stars from me.

Much Better Than I Thought it Was Going to Be
A very nice little stand. I looked at quite a few different models on Amazon, and although I was not 100% sure this would work for me I ordered it anyway. Turned out very well. Once assembled it's pretty sharp looking. There are a lot of pieces to be put together, but it was fairly easy and I did it by myself in about one hour. All I needed was a screwdriver and a hammer. The wood did have a fair amount of small dings and scuffs in it, but with the supplied touch up pen, my own black magic marker and a clean rag with plenty of Windex I don't think any of the imperfections are noticeable. I am surprised at the quality for such a low price. I bought it mostly with credit card reward points, so it only cost $6 out of my own pocket. Would definitely buy again.
