Cons: Pretty flimsy. No calibration instructions - though calibration is pretty straightforward if you pay close attention to how the parts line up, take your time, and use a good thermometer to check the water temps.One failed after just a few years. (Though the first one lasted fifteen years).Pros: The first one lasted fifteen years. Easy to replace. Inexpensive. They still make the part - which is good because the rest of the valve should last 50+ years. I'd hate to have to tear open the wall because an easy to replace plastic part was no longer available.

Was the piece I needed, was broken on brand new shower valve out of the package. Exact replacement. Should have complained to store or manufacturer but given timeframes from original valve purchase was easier to just buy this since it wasn’t too expensive.

Wish I dint have to buy these, they break easy and water never gets hot..... Not this parts fault, just a poor design by American standard. Wish I picked a different valve for the bathroom.

An exact replacement for our Jado shower.

I installed all American Standard fixtures in my new home. The temperature calibration unit on all of the showers break frequently due to a very poor design...they used plastic parts that break if the user moves the handle too far. I've replaced three of these in the last year and a half...I suspect more will be in my future.The part is not that expensive, but it takes a plumber to install it. Do not buy American Standard.

For the company distributing the part, great job. For the part itself, very frustrating. As other reviews and probably as you reading the review to buy one, the design on this is very poor and the plastic breaks too easily. A repeat buy on this part is a bad sign for the valve by American Standard.
