Worked perfectly
I was a bit skeptical, but after having seen a few youtube videos and instructions shared here, I went ahead and ordered it. This was for my 1998 528i and it arrived within two days. The product itself is of good quality and was a great fit. After you open your key from the back and pop out the circuit, it is a bit effort to remove the old rubber buttons, so you have to push from the opposite side. I used pliers and the back of a narrow screw driver to remove the existing buttons. Once they come out, you will have to trim the red flap as you really do not need it as the red light from the circuit will do the trick. I placed the transponder first before snapping in the buttons. Have to maneuver them a bit so they stick out well from the other side. After installing back the circuit board and a new battery, you may have to reprogram the remote once you get to your car. For my car the steps were 1) unlock all the doors and move ignition key to the point where all instrument cluster lights come on but do not start the car. 2) Turn the key back and remove from ignition 3) hold the unlock button and while holding it press and release the lock button on your key three times. The doors will then automatically lock. This means you have programmed the key. I had to do step 3 a few times for it to work but it eventually did. Key looks new, buttons feel good and remote is working perfectly. Install a new battery while you are at it.

Fits Perfectly and easy to install
The replacement buttons fit the key perfectly and are easy to install. I watched two YouTube videos before attempting. I recommend that. You may have to trim a bit to fit around the chip in the key and remove a bit of clear red plastic (This would depend on the model, I suppose.) The videos explain. Highly recommended.

2002 Z3
While the description only goes to "2001", I tried this on my 2002 BMW remote key, and it fit just fine AFTER some considerable figureing-out. (sorta depends on how much your time is worth?) Took me about 90 minutes of some VERY careful takeing apart, cleaning out of rotten/sticky/old rubber, and then the TRIMMING of this new rubber part to ....1. make a flush fit for the tiny red light tab, and 2. to allow for the loose micro-chip to wedge in along side the round button pad. Now that I know all this, IF there is a "next time" ... would only take about 20 minutes to make the key like new again. But be warned, it requires good lighting (because the parts are small), eye-glasses sized tools (phillips & slot), a extra sharp razor blade, and a fair amount of steady patience. Better to refresh the battery while your already in there, as the screws are corroded and the plastic will strip out if moved much more. (4 Stars not 5, because there are no instructions. Even others guidance could not cover every detail that arose)

Nice refresh to my beat up E39 key
Installation was pretty easy, I used a little hand soap to make them pop in easier. Fit is good, I did cut off the red light part, as my key had a lens built in, yours may be different? Also, I had to trim back a small area to fit the small chip back in. The original had a cut out for this, again yours may be different.I'm not sure what the durability of these rubber parts will be, but we will see.

Some modification required for e39
You do have to do some trimming to get it to fit correctly for an e39, but with the proper tools, it's easy enough.

Easy repair for my 00 bmw 528i
Bought this for my 2000 bmw 528iT. My key buttons were so worn out so I looked it up and a guy on YouTube recommended this. I had to cut off the red part and a little on the other side to allow the plastic bit to sit back inside the key. I also changed the battery and cleaned up the key while I was at it. Now the buttons feel good as new!!
