Convenience Concepts Northfield Console 3 Tier Bookcase, Espresso

This bookshelf is the perfect width and height for my window area and the Expresso color and style blend well with my bedroom pieces perfectly.

Decent little media console. Top piece (#1) arrived damage on the corner and it’s not as sturdy as it could be. That’s why I gave 3 stars. The materials are cheaper, but it looks pretty good after you assemble it and put the stickers over the holes. As you can see in the picture it’s hard to see them. Hardware could be better quality and also the wood, but that will increase the price. The valve for the money is about right. So I guess if the corner wasn’t damaged I’d give 4 stars.

Very happy with this piece. We are using it as a library table on the back of our sofa. I can't think of any way it could be improved.Others commented that assembly was difficult. I did not have any problems. I have three tips about assembly:1) Do not over-torque the cam hardware. The tendency is to turn screws etc. as hard as you can. DON'T DO THAT. It is unnecessary and will strip the hardware. I hand-tightened the camware, then tightened 1/4 turn further with a screw driver. That was plenty.2) A couple of the dowel holes had sawdust around the edges. Clean those holes with the end of a screw driver so the dowels will slide in easily.3) When gluing the wooden dowels, don't put glue on the dowel itself. Instead, put a bead of glue in the dowel hole and then insert the dowel. That way you won't get glue on your fingers. Wipe off excess glue immediately with a napkin.The instructions themselves were very clear. I didn't get confused or make any mistakes.This is a fine product. I would order other items from this company.

As far as assemble-it-yourself furniture goes this is one of the higher quality pieces I've encountered. It's packaged well to prevent damage in shipping (our box had some dents and dings on the outside but everything inside was just fine), includes clear directions, and even includes extras like wood glue for assembly. I like that many/most of the joints included both dowels (this is where you use the glue) and cam locks for rigidity. Additionally, the manufacturing tolerances were above expectation b/c all the holes lined up perfectly and the final product is nice and sturdy. I would definitely purchase again.

I'm not a handy man. I don't own almost any tools. I built this thing in like 15 min. It looks great and all the pieces were there. I didn't use the wood glue (so I can take it apart later if I move) and it still holds together.DON'T USE A SCREWDRIVER! My only complaint is that the screw things are incredibly shallow. If you hand tighten them and then turn it at ALL with a screwdriver, even a tiny bit, the threads of the screw thing strips and it no longer sticks. I tried it on 3 before I just started screwing them in by hand which worked fine.If they used longer better screw things I would have given this 5/5 stars.

Needed a specific width for the space in the living room. Easy assembly and color is fine. Thought I had ordered more of a charcoal color, but it is dark brown. Works though for the space and it was inexpensive. Has a contemporary feel. Arrived in good time and with only a very small dent (at the back of the unit).

I think this piece looks nice once it is assembled. I did have a few problems, however when assembling this piece. Some of the cam- lock screws just would not lock or fit all the way down, so I had to omit them from the piece. They were the ones on the very top shelf for the middle support. Since I don't plan on moving it around alot I think it will hold up ok since the wooden dowels are glued in. I bought it on sale, I don't think I would pay full price for it after the experience that I had.

It came very quickly. It is solid and does its job well. A little pricey but not so much that I feel ripped off. Quite satisfied overall.

Definitely not up to a reasonable standard. Missing parts (cam locks) that were supposed to be already installed and the cam locks that WERE there kept falling out .....glue is more like feta cheese than glue....three areas where the "wood finish" is just not there . For a very basic unit this should have gone together in less than an hour with zero frustration ....

Cheap and definitely not worth the amount of money it cost. Looks like the one I received was preowned, the shelves were scuffed up and the edges looked worn. A few of the screws were bent and didn't go in easily, because of that I didn't have a screw for one of the corners and had to improvise. One of the dowels was broken as well and there weren't any extras. Too much work to repackage and return so we made it work, I advise save your money or buy elsewhere.

This was the absolute worst purchase I've made online ever. Insanely cheap and ridiculously difficult to put together. Save your time, money and mostly your sanity by not ordering.
