KleenWater Hot Water Filter System, 5 Micron High Temperature Cartridge with Scale Inhibitor, Mounting Bracket and Filter Wrench

This was one of the few filters for scale I found that I could install on my hot water line, as we have anemic central hot water in our condo building, and this is installed before the central hot water feeds into my 4 gallon mini-tank water heater, which when I turn it on boosts the central hot water if needed for my kitchen faucet, dishwasher, and front-load washer. Our water in San Diego county is about a 4 out of 5 for hardness, and I have had to disassemble the mini-tank water heater every six months, clean the crud out of it, then replace the anode rod. Will be interesting to see how well this works, I already have a ClearWave water conditioner (electronic) on the hot water line coming into it, which helps some, but not nearly enough.

I've had this filter for 6 years now. When I first installed it, it was very difficult to get it to not leak. No matter how hard I tightened it using the included filter wrench, it always leaked. After hours of playing with it, I had to put some plumbers putty on the O ring to get it to stop leaking. Also, changing the filter is a pain. It's hard to get it lined up on the top and the bottom at the same time. Changing the filter every year is not something I look forward to. I know it's going to be a major project just to get in on right and then to find a way to make it not leak. Maybe I just got a bad one. No one else seems to have this problem.

This filter system is very durable and appears it will last for many years. I rated it a 4 due to it arriving at least 2 or 3 days after the posted delivery date.*Update 9-21-2019*The filter has functioned great and really helped with our dishwasher. No spots on dishes and the metal liner in the dishwasher stays shiny without any film. Definitely recommend this product.

I had to get special adapters to make it work under my sink, but since installing it and installing the "AP420 (5527407 / 55274-07) Hot Water Protector / Scale Inhibitor Alternative Replacement Water Filter Cartridge by KleenWater," my dish washer isn't leaving hard water deposits on any of my glasses nor flatware. It was a worthwhile purchase. Definitely use plumbing tape when you install. The parts I needed were easy to find at Home Depot.

Product works great especially for tankless water heaters.

the cartridge is doing what i expected i don't like the white pressure relieve knob on the filter holder i can see the screw driver slot stripping out after a few filter changes

Installed this in line just for the dishwasher. Before the instal I had very bad scale buildup on all the dishes. This filter setup completely fixed the problem! Not a single spot left on my dishes. If you've got hard water/scale, this is the fix.
