Awesome Atlas for Road Trippers with National Park Love
As far as atlas's go, Rand McNally will never do you wrong, it's the tried and true name for maps, especially for North America I've found. However, in the past 5-6 years, I have found myself visiting more and more National Parks. The last Atlas I had was the 2016 Rand McNally North America but after 10+ road trips in that time, it was getting a bit worn out and a few states had actually come off the spiral binding and been held in by the trusty rubber band lol. So when I started planning new travels recently I was just looking for another trusty 2020 Rand McNally NA Road Atlas, but lovely Amazon showed me this lovely National Park lovers version, and let me just say I am NOT disappointed! Upon getting it and looking through, you will find that almost all of the Major Nature National Parks (50+) have a 2-page insert about the park that includes a little best of sort of list, the most popular trails, where they are, and best sites, etc. If you want more in-depth info you'll definitely have to look farther but this is a great jump-off point. Excellent purchase for you Road Trippin National Park Lovers!

Buy if for the Atlas, not the nat'l parks guide feature
March 2021 - Four parts to this review (Atlas, Parks Guide, Size and Use, Binding) ... ATLAS 5-Stars - Rand McNally delivers another good atlas. If you like their atlas, you will like this one. It is not more and not less than the traditional RM atlas. No more detail, no less detail, simply updated and current. PARKS GUIDE 1-Star - 'Parks Guide' was a big disappointment. Essentially a few paragraphs on four standard sections for each park listed. Not all parks are listed, and the sections are very very basic info along the lines of 'if you like hiking, you can hike here (well duh) and try the xyz trail, if you like camping you can camp here and ....' No much insight unless you have never been to a national park in your life. SIZE/USE 4.5 Stars if that were possible - Size is a real 5+ star, great size to fold out in your lap while navigating and not have to deal with a billboard size atlas, map orientation shifts a bit based on size/geographic shape of the state, but that is a minor hurdle to get over. BINDING 0 Stars to minus stars! - metal spiral binding is a "what were you thinking???!!!" Snags on clothes, rough on hands, gets bent, looks cheap, etc., etc., etc., Larger size RM atlases have the plastic coil binding which is opposite of all these criticisms and works great. So, we went to a binder and replaced the metal (again 'what were you thinking!!!) a plastic binder and could not be happy. If you agree on the binding, add $1-2 to purchase price for the binding replacement and you are good to go. All in all - very pleased with this Atlas. WJ Mar 2021

A new Rand McNally road atlas is a joy!
I would prefer to get the spiral-bound two-state layout without the National Park section but this was the only one available. The NP section makes it heavier than past versions of this road atlas. The NP section is interesting, but I can get all that the internet. That said, you just can't get the same map experience electronically. Google maps and satellite is great when you want to get into the nitty gritty. When you want the macro view this version is the best. Find places you wouldn't otherwise think of going!

Beautiful large colorful guide that you can take in your as use as you drive America, in any State
The color guide book is large, beautiful with states profiled by state in alphabetical order in easy to follow format. It gives the state, park name, describes the features and what you can expect and gives some guidelines, plus a nice map. There are detailed maps following all the states' parks listings, for each state. The book is quite nice, and easier to follow for planning, than using your mobile phone. You have it at your fingertips. For your state or any state or any roadtrip you drive, you can use this guide in advance, or on the fly, based on your location and preferences.

Road Atlas with National Park Guide
While I like the price of the Road Atlas’ that I get from State Farm ($0), the spiral version that I purchased from Rand McNally is far superior with its spiral backing and heavier duty front and back cover. This version also includes a National Park Guide which is very handy for those that wish to visit National Parks. This Road Atlas should last a few years, until time to get an updated copy.

Park maps are small, descriptions brief, state maps nice size.
We will use this when we tour around the Southwest U.S. this spring. While many reviewers don't like the small park maps, most, if not all parks have maps when you enter that are up to date and far more detailed. Also in the world of the internet one can find all sorts of virtual tours on you tube or other media sources.Old fashioned maps are handy to give a better perspective of your routes and orientation. Close up nav maps are handy but one sometimes loses a sense of where one is. Also, nav systems will sometimes want take you where there is road construction in rural areas. Paper maps make getting around construction less of a headache.

Good info, layout, printing and value
Very good road atlas. Well-printed and easy to read. The spiral binding makes it much easier to use. The National Park info is a bonus. Sometimes a book is better than an electronic device. We keep this in the RV when traveling, partly as a backup to electronic devices and partly due to its ease of use.Good value, recommended.

AWESOME
For those who really like to read and touch and flip a page. This is great. I'm planning trips and I'm not staring at a small phone screen. Yes I'll still use Google MAPS but I can easily look at the different options for a route where it could take me off the beaten path and alternative scenic routes and new adventures. This is a great for the road travelers and a great gift for someone. The large book is very large, but its also very nice when discussing and viewing with your partner in travel!!!

Kleine Karten, schlecht lesbar.

Best and most detailed version out there
Love this map for reviewing past trips and planning new ones.I did my research before buying - Compact, EasyFinder, Midsize and Large all have less data than this one. If you don't need the parks get the standard edition (staple/laminated cover), not one of the special sizes noted above. The best part of this atlas is that toilets and rest areas are marked on the map (unlike the special size editions). This is a huge game-changer for me as in many states I have noticed that the rest area notice signs are posted so close to the exit that I do not have time to slow down or switch lanes. This gives me a way to predict when one will be coming up so I can be in the correct lane.Very happy with this purchase.

Useful for trip planning in the US
I found this road atlas to be very useful to plan a trip in the US. It allowed me to get a "big picture" of the area and routes to take. Then pushed my planning using Google maps. IMHO it does not beat the official state road maps but it is a good start. Some maps are small. Some take two pages, etc....Mexico and Canada are afterthoughts in this atlas. Better off ordering the official road maps of the concerned province or Mexican state. On the somewhat funny side, the cat absolutely adores chewing on the spiral.

Road Atlas - Canada, USA and Mexico
Purchased as birthday gift for my partner. The Road Atlas is excellent quality and was exactly what he was looking for when traveling across Canada and into the USA. Also, includes a travel guide to America’s 61 National Park. Very sturdy guidebook.
