Went crabbing for the first time using these. So easy to use.

Not quite heavy enough, but easy to add weight

These are easy to use. They are strong. Have caught a lot of crabs with these snares. They come with extra loops to replace any worn out ones. We have lost some when they get caught on sharp rocks and the line is cut or when they are not tied onto the line correctly and the go flying when casting. AirFly is the only ones I use and have been using them for 3 years.

Wasn't really what I expected. I had the idea of casting it into the surf. It's almost too heavy to cast. After it was out in the surf, it just kept getting rolled around making bird nests of the line.I guess dropping it into the water or light casting from a dock was probably what is was made for.

I bought one last week annd it looks sturdy andwell made but do I need to add weight? For instance a place like Ocean Beach?

I was given the chance to evaluate this bait cage. It is compact and the steel feels like it provides good structural integrity. No issues with the coating. Especially when considering it is made in America I feel like customers get a great value for the cost. I will be mounting this to one of my castable crab traps and am excited to use it when our red rock and dungeness crab season opens this summer.It won't fit a large chicken drumstick but smaller ones will fit. Having a cage that swings open is a huge advantage over what I've traditionally done. No more zip ties or touching nasty old chicken just to take it off my trap at the end of the day. This cage will allow me to use other kinds of bait like clam necks.

Sadly I cannot test this out as our crab season has ended, but I plan on adding 6 line snares on,one and adding a crab net on another. The coating is thick and I hope will last the erosion salt water offers. The hinges and hook to close the trap may be an issue for rust, but those are easy to replace. Overall this is solid and sound. I will enjoy using these.
