Sturdyish solution for a single phone or tablet
I've had this item for a year now having cracked and decided to provide cbeebies to the back seat. The clamp is easy to fix, but we decided not really sturdy enough to be taken on and off so it remains in our car all the time. We have it fitted on the drivers seat of our Octavia where it's been mounted since August 2015. This does mean it gets knocked around by the kids if they are climbing through to the front but it's pretty resilient so far.Weve used 5 devices, a Galaxy tab10-2, nexus 9, and galaxy s4, s5 and s7. It's definitely happier with the phones but handles the weight of a lighter tablet (never tried a case). Mounting a device is a bit of a stretch, and easier from the opposite side of the car, so for us, it's the passenger who changes programmes (can be done on the move but a bit fiddly). We set the desired programme or film going and get to work. The clamp is held on an extending aluminium arm, we release the plastic clamp, slide the arm in (a bit trickier since it got used as a grab handle by a 4 year old). You turn a black plastic grip wheel to loosen a ball joint and turn it horizontal for phones (gripping short sides in landscape) or vertical for tablets (gripping the long sides top and bottom of the tablet in landscape). I wouldn't mount my tablet with the grips on the vertical sides as I just don't trust the spring that much but for phones it's fine. One side has foam, the other is plastic but no scratches yet. There is a small ratchet adjustment on one grip and a fairly strong spring on the other. Once in, you slide the mount out until it's central (2 kids for us) and lock it in place. Doing this from the drivers seat when parked is possible but more fiddly. The main problem is touching the screen when it's facing away and you are mounting it but it's not too bad. A larger child 5-6 like one of ours can reach the tablet comfortably when the car is parked to select what thry want to watchI'm back here as it's been a year and a few turns as an aluminium grab handle and over tightening of the clamp means cracks have appeared on the ball joint mount. It's working but perhaps not too much longer. However, rather than being disappointed I'm looking to buy another. Before buying I will have a look at mounts that make me feel more comfortable about crash safety. In 12 months I've not had a single dropped phone or tablet but in a crash there is a tablet/phone at head height in between the front seats.I'm pleased with the product, and it means that both children can be entertained by a single device. Biggest downside I guess is that I don't think it would survive too many full removals so the clamp stays in place.

Excellent for the price
Very easy to install, holds the tablet in place very well. Only slight negative is that it does slip down slightly but that may be the weight of the tablet

Great product, just right for long journeys
This is a very good and sturdy product and worked very well on 2 x 15 hour car trips.Pros:Attaches to back of headrest very easily. I only used it in the position where the tablet is at the end of the bar in between the 2 front seats. I think if you have to have it at the back of the headrest it would stick out a fair bit and there are better solutions for back of headrest mounts but it is good to have the option.I liked that you can unclip the iPad mount and slide the bar all the way back in, this means that it is less of a hazard in the car when not using or when kids want to clamber in the front (when parked obviously).Cons: (these to me were minor but might be a bigger consideration for others)It will only fit an iPad with a cover if the cover does not have a front flap. 2 of our iPads have this and only one came out of its cover easily so was the one we ended up using. It was an iPad air, which fitted easily and was securely held. We also have a iPad 2 in a bulky kid safe rubber case and this was too big to fit but only just and I think if it had had a more standard case it would have fitted. The mount did drop slightly and had to be readjusted a couple of times during each trip but not too the point of being tiresome.

OK, but wobbles when on the move.
Bought this bracket to mount the iPad between the rear seats of my car for the kids to view downloaded Netflix content whilst on the move. The arm itself mounts neatly to the headrest and has lots of adjustment. The phone / tablet bracket has lots of adjustment but is maxed out with an iPad 4 (probably won't work for large iPad Pro). The bracket has one arm which is on a lockable ratchet whilst the other is spring mounted, so it can be a little fiddly to get the device secured. I adjusted the ratchet to easily get the device in by moving the spring loaded arm and then further closed the ratchet to ensure it was secure. The arm on the mount extends by way of a little friction lock, and at full extent easily positions the device into the middle of the seats, however, at this length and with the weight of the iPad, it does wobble when on the move (probably as a result of the material being too thin). The bracket attaches to the arm via a little drop in clip, which is fine to attach it but makes it tricky for the front seat passenger to take it off (to make changes on the pad). There are other products on the market which allow it to be spun around which is an altogether better design. Finally, the design of the bracket and arm results in the device being further back in the car than expected, thus increasing the angle from which the rear passengers view the mounted device.

Kids love it, really secure
Really secure and strong, have had an ipad air in the holder on longer car trips with no issues. The spring loaded holder feels good quality and has grippy pads to prevent it marking your device.Being able to remove the holder from the arm makes changing movie or tv show easy from the front seat. Kids love that it positions in the centre so they can both see the screen well.It also works well with smaller devices like phones (galaxy S7 edge)

Good and Sturdy iPad holder
I bought this for the back of our car for the kids to watch their iPads on longer journeys. I found it very easy to install and it feels very sturdy. As yet, I have had no issues with it holding an iPad, nothing has fallen out of it's clamps and there has been no rotation whilst holding the screens.Overall, very happy with this purchase.
