Almost Perfect
I bought this replacement light for my duty flashlight (SL20). I read the description and I liked the that it was LED, which meant a longer run time, the increased brightness and the fact that it was less prone to breaking when dropped. Here's how it stacks up against those expectations:It is LED, and I have had significantly longer run time out of the light. I have routinely gone two full work weeks without needing to charge it. And even then, it's still had plenty of brightness left. It's nice to know that when I forget it in my patrol car, I don't have to worry that I won't have a working light when I come back to work.It is incredibly bright. I don't know whether it actually puts out the advertised lumens or not, but trust me it is plenty bright.I am rough with my gear, and the fact that this has no bulb to break, or come loose is a big plus. I have lost track of the number of times my light has hit the ground in a chase, or just getting out of the car. I feel like I don't have to worry about bulb damage with this light. On a downside, there is an odd dark spot right in the center of the light. It appears when used close up to something, goes away at a medium distance (think 15 feet or so) and is back again at longer distances. Most of the time I'm lighting up people or objects in the 10-15 foot range so it isn't a big deal, however, I would rather there not be a dead spot at all. Mildly annoying, and this is the main reason I didn't give a 5 star rating. The other thing I have noticed is that the 3 position function is sporadic at best. Sometimes it will cycle through as I press the button, and sometimes I can't get to the other settings no matter how much I try. Personally, I could do without the other two settings and would just prefer the one high setting. If I need to cut down on my light, I simply place one hand over the lamp and block some of the output on my own.Overall, this replacement light was worth the money. The brightness alone makes it a worthwhile purchase. Also, I paid about $25 less than at my local store. If you have an SL20, this is a great purchase.

Needs improvements
This light module uses 4 smaller chips, instead of a single powerful one. The resulting gaps between the four chips creat a black hole in the center of the light beam. The beam offers a good balance between spot and flood patterns and the color temp. is just ok. I would like to see a warmer color temp. vs. the harsh white beam this LED module casts. The electronics offer three power modes: The first time the power switch is depressed, the light is in full power; the next two quick switch activations dim the light considerably. While I like this feature for general use, I personally wouldn't care for it as an on duty light. First of all, the shadow in the center of the beam could potentially cause you miss something. Secondly, the dimming factor built into the module would make it tactically useless for entries (enoght said on that). The light moduel, however, is adequate enough for normal illumination needs or a back up flashlight. I have personally switched to a smaller, tactical flashlights and use my other two large lights at home. I posted two pictures to show the beam pattern of this module and a Surefire Fury, rated at 500 lumens.

Check the part number! the heading is incorrect!
Be careful buying this LED conversion kit, the one being sold by firefly buys is a TLE-110S-MM which is different from the TLE-110S sold by amazon. The product descriptions match, but if you don't read the tiny print at the bottom of the page which lists the model number you might make my same mistake. The kit worked but the MM led has a multi-mode selection of 600 lumen, 300 lumen, and low which is not in the product description either. My old SL 20X on/off button does not really work that great for the multi-mode bulb so I returned this and got the TLE-110S which is sold by amazon. If you have an SL 20X I would avoid purchasing the TLE-110S-MM but if you have a different model flashlight with more than one on/off switch it might work correctly. When I would lightly depress the button it would be on high output, but once I completely pressed the button and it clicked on, only the 300 lumen mode would work. Cycling the brightness only works when you lightly depress the button and not clicking it on. This is problematic for my purposes, I just want the light to be bright with one click, so I returned this for the other LED kit.Make sure you check the fine print under part number to make sure you are getting the right LED kit since its not mentioned anywhere else in the description or title.

Blazing!
This upgrade turned my halogen service light into a blazing miniature sun! Although the beam is not able to be focused (and has a small dark spot dead center) it has a very effective bright center beam with a nice halo around it. I can use it held over head to light a path or I can effectively neutralize a threat (temporarily) by giving a suspect a direct blast in the eyes. Distance is no problem either as the effective range to spot a person is probably 600-800 feet and I suspect the beam can be seen for miles. Highly recommended if you need a dependable and very bright light that doesn't heat up or eat batteries.

Upgrade the Streamlight SL20-X LED with Terralux
It is OK. After removing the 3 little LED bulb retainers (2 white plastic rings with screws), dropped in the Terralux Mini Star, it rattled a little. It wiggled and made noise because no screw holding it down. Terralux please design a better fit so no room to wiggle or rattle. There is a hollow ring in the center of the beam. I hate it. $50 is a little pricey to upgrade with bad design.
