Kaplan SAT Strategies, Practice, and Review 2015-2016 with 5 Practice Tests: Book + Online + DVD (Kaplan Test Prep)

Fabulous SAT prep book. However, CollegeBoard has completely renewed the SAT and starting with the March 2016 SAT, the format of the SAT is completely different. There is a newer version (2016 ver.) to help you prep for the new SAT. I strongly recommend getting the newer one instead because there are many major differences in the new SAT. The style and the types of questions being asked is different. There is no point deduction for incorrect questions and several other differences.Again, this SAT prep book prepares you for the old sat but not the new SAT starting March 2016.I personally recommend the 2016 version of this book instead.

My son needed this to work on his testing. I downloaded the Kindle edition onto a Windows 8 laptop - the content is completely messed up.He started doing the first test- questions are out of order - 5,6,7 and then it resets back to an earlier number- the answer key is useless with this- I had him keep going to try and finish the test, but it was totally frustrating since you cannot evaluate what you have doneI am disappointed that Amazon is selling this on Kindle - somebody needs to have done QC on this.

This book must work by osmosis. My daughter scored well after using it for the second test, but I don't think she ever cracked it. Your results may vary.

I bought this for my nephew who is a senior in high school and was re-taking the SAT in October. This is the last test, I believe, for which this book would be the appropriate version however as I understand they are changing the SAT going forward. Whether or not this book is still relevant to the new SAT I cannot tell you. However, I can say that using this plus another prep book I bought for him, my darling nephew increased his SAT score from 2030 to 2250. 760 math and 760 and 730 on the other two sections. So, it worked for him.

Do NOT get the Kindle edition of this or any other Kaplan math book. I can handle the lack of consistent formatting for all verbal (even in microscopic font size it is not good) but the lack of anything resembling subscript or superscript renders algebra (and nearly everything else math) into gibberish. Add to that the interpretation of the instructions, formulas, and notes for the test (probably because of copyright issues) and it makes this useless.

I (the parent) thought this was a good book. My child, however was disappointed to see it come in the mail because he knew there was work to do. I think it did a good job and had great information.

I provide free SAT tutoring to high school students and this book was perfect in helping me set-up my sessions. I like that there are practice questions with full explanations--it makes things easier to breakdown in case I've forgotten some of the material. I also like that there are practice sections--it's perfect for giving to different students at different times.

Does a pretty good job with math section. The techniques are quite similar to PR's. However, I found the vocab section extremely unrealistic. Words are not necessarily harder but just unlikely to appear on the SAT. Same thing goes to the vocab list in the back, there is a plethora of words that are redundant. Overall, pretty decent.
